One of Insight Globals higher education clients is looking for a Sr. System Administrator to join their Cyberinfrastructure Platform Services team. Looking for someone who is a critical thinker and interested in supporting multi-tier enterprise application environments from operating systems through application-level system administration for business partners. Must have prior experience supporting Linux and Windows based servers in a multiple-tier application architecture. Needs familiarity with scripting and ability to build automated solutions in supporting enterprise applications. This person will be completing efforts and projects related to the operation, support maintenance, and upgrade of multi-tier information technology application solutions including software installation and configuration, server operating systems, networking, and storage management. Will be administering, maintaining, and supporting complex and critical application infrastructure. Also, providing support and guidance to application product owners and software developers on system setups, configuration changes and upgrades. This Senior Systems Administrator could serve as a project manager and product or services owner in this role.

 Administer, maintain, and support complex and critical application infrastructure.

 Provide support and guidance to application product owners and software developers on system setup, configuration changes, and upgrades.

 Lead process improvement within the team including standard operating procedures, service delivery, and developing key performance indicators and metrics reporting.

 Evaluate and provide guidance on the implementation of new technologies into existing infrastructure.

 Partner with technology vendors and value-added resellers (VARs) to build and maintain strategic relationships.

 Write project charters and define scope for complex infrastructure projects and provide regular updates to stakeholders and leadership.

 Diagnose and identify appropriate solutions for both routine and complex infrastructure problem

Skills and Requirements

Must Haves:

 6+ years of Systems Administration with cloud integration preferred

 Proficient with Linux and Microsoft Windows

 Proficient with advanced software/application support and maintenance

 Experience in coding and scripting with Python

 Experience developing script in Ansible, Terraform, PowerShell, and Bash.

 Experience managing virtualized environments including VMware ESXI hosts and vCenter Server Appliances.

 Experience creating and maintaining comprehensive technical documentation for enterprise system configurations and processes

 Experience in ITSM (Service request, Incident, Change) Management

Plusses:

 Experience working for an enterprise-level company or financial service company null
