TEKsystems Systems Engineer in Chicago, Illinois
This role requires an equal split of VMware (Server, Esxi) & Storage (Isilon, Unity). If you have one but not the other this will not be a fit.
Description:
The client is a nationally ranked pediatric acute care children's hospital located in Chicago, Illinois. The hospital has 360 beds. The client is looking for a Storage/VMware Engineer to support the hospitals entire storage environment. This person's day could be supporting small projects, storage array upgrades, datacenter consultation, deprovisioning storage, code upgrades, shelf upgrades, formalizing policy and procedures, and working to troubleshoot any back up issues. Further details on the responsibilities and environment below:
Break/Fix ServiceNow Incidents (File Systems rights and restores)
Project Support (Implementation for backup/restore process to validate)
Multi Data center shop - DELL Shop.
Backup - Data Domain, Power
6 SAN Environments (2 Unity, 2 Unity 680, 1 Unity 300)
NAS - DELL Isilon
Business Continuity
Knowledge of DELL VCE RCM updates and how it relates to storage
Two vBlocks
VMware shop (from unity to devices to servers)
Help consult on other projects as well - this person will act as a SME
Optimizing backups for consistency

Develops and manages complex projects related to the security infrastructure and related technologies; duties include facilitating meetings and leading efforts.

Provide analysis of system and network threats consistent with Security Certification and Accreditation.
