JMT's Construction Management Team is seeking a CEI Inspector for the Chipley, FL Area. The successful candidate will apply standard inspection procedures to ongoing activities during and after construction for structural quality, general safety and conformance to plans, specifications and codes.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities
Review and interpret plans, site layouts, specifications and construction methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.
Performs routine tests on concreate, soils and other materials
Measure dimensions and verify level, alignment, and elevation of structures, fixtures, grades and/or pavement to ensure compliance to plans and codes.
Gathers and maintains record documents
Makes field notes and computations
Nonessential Functions and Responsibilities
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Required Skills
Computer Proficiency
Must successfully complete and pass JMT's Motor Vehicle screening
Required Experience
High School Diploma or Equivalent
Ability to earn the required qualifications and certifications within six (6) months
Two (2) years of experience in construction inspection
- One (1) year of which shall have been in bridge and/or roadway construction
Active driver’s license
- Qualifications/Certifications for this position may be obtained within six (6) months from the date of hire provided that the position works under the supervision and direction of a Senior Inspector or Senior Engineer Intern, all other requirements for the position are met, and a training plan is submitted detailing when the qualifications/certifications will be obtained.

Curing, Sawing and Joint Sealing (TC3CN032-16-T1)
Ability to: Communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing)
Responsible for: Receiving general supervision from and assisting the Senior Inspector in the performance of their duties
Working Conditions
Work is performed in the field. Ability to extensively perform bending, kneeling, standing, shoveling, and lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 25 lbs as needed. Work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
