The Role

We're looking for a product owner to join us in our technology EMEA team to partner directly with our finance function. This role will support, influence and provide input into the selection and recommendation of technology products and services used by the finance function in EMEA to support with improvement in their overall profitability, streamline operations, and provide enhanced customer and partner experiences.

Working closely with other technology product managers and product owners, key vendors and partners and licencee technology partners in EMEA and in Global, this role focuses on developing strategic and tactical plans, meeting the demands of the business with an optimised technology roadmap for the domain. You'll coordinate and collaborate with multiple technology product owners in accordance with established standards and best practices and will act as a lynch pin between the EMEA region and Global technology on technology strategies and initiatives, particularly with teams based in Seattle, USA.

What You'll Do:

  • Create and maintain strategic multi-year technology product roadmaps, gain strategic agreement from key stakeholders both business and functional

  • Maintain Product Backlog and deliver a continuous product enhancement and process improvements

  • Vendor management and second level vendor escalation for technology systems and services

  • Maintains and executes a structured approach to problem-solving and issue management

  • Recommends technology investments to meet business objectives and goals

  • Ensures the most effective use of tools, processes, and procedures to maintain the production environment

  • Contributes to relevant technology standards in the Global Licensing Framework

  • Recommends corrective actions, new or enhanced tools, processes and procedures in support of continuous improvement in meeting business objectives

  • Works with Global technology teams to ensure EMEA requirements are well understood for both business as usual and product enhancements

  • Works with technology operations team to review supplier SLAs and provide feedback on performance improvements

  • Provide product guidance and expertise to the business on technology applications, systems, and services

  • Provide input into EMEA technology budgets for relevant technology software and hardware

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Relevant domain-specific technology experience

  • Prior product ownership experience in the finance systems domain; comprehensive knowledge of best practice accounting and commercial finance processes

  • Excellent communication skills and highly competent in building strong relationships across all levels, working with distributed teams in multiple time zones

  • Strong analytical skills and technical aptitude with experience gathering requirements and analysis

  • Cross-functional collaborator in a matrixed organisation

  • Solid prioritisation skills with ability to meet deadlines and juggle multiple projects

  • Ability to plan for and review functional technical specifications

  • Experience in Project and Product management

  • Proactive attitude and willingness to adapt to the requirements of the organisation

  • Understanding of budgeting and planning

  • Business relationship management

Desirable Knowledge, Skills and Experience

  • Experience of Oracle E-business suite

  • Retail technology experience
