Johnson & Johnson is currently recruiting for an Assistant Tax Manager (ATM) as part of its AsPac Tax Operations Center. This role is focused on Corporate Tax compliance (direct, indirect, etc), Tax Accounting, Transfer Pricing and US Tax legal reporting for Johnson & Johnson legal entities in Japan (50%) & Korea (50%). This role will support Japan and Korea Tax Country Leads. The candidate’s work location will be either based in Chiyoda, Tokyo or Seoul, Korea.
This role is expected to proactively drive process standardization and simplification with innovation together with country tax leads. This role is also expected to be able to support and work with broad range of colleagues to provide collaborative and professional partnership with an end goal of supporting and improving the efficient tax compliance processes of JNJ entities in Japan and Korea
-Ensure timely filing and compliance with local tax regulations (corporate income tax, tax accounting, WHT, value added tax, property tax, transfer pricing, etc.), US Tax Reporting, JNJ World-Wide Procedures, SOX Requirements and other regulatory policies (e.g., US GAAP and Local GAAP).
-Develop effective monitoring to drive key results related to the timely and accurate preparation, submission, and payments of various tax returns, tax audit requirements and other documentation and reports for submission to the local authorities, regional tax team, and global tax team in the US.
-Provide in-house tax advisory to support local business operations of JNJ. Provide tax guidance to business partners on all tax matters and issues that may arise.
-Involvement in the execution of various tax & business projects by pro-actively partnering with various stakeholders within the organization including various business partners (Finance Director, Global Services – Finance, Business Finance, Supply Chain, Business Leaders, etc) and external consultants. Facilitate the effective, efficient, and holistic resolution of various processes to ensure tax compliance.
-Continuously research existing and new tax regulations to ensure that the current business processes as well as local tax compliance processes are up to-date. Close monitoring of Tax Reform Packages and ensure new laws are properly and timely implemented.
-Manage and execute overall strategy for handling tax audits in coordination with various departments, regional and global team and external consultants. Manage the relationship with regional and global tax teams, internal and external auditors, external consultants, local authorities and other government agencies.

Required Minimum Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy 1 or Equivalent
Required Years of Related Experience:
Minimum of 7 Years of Tax Experience in a multi-national organization or combined experience with multi-national organization and Big 4 or Second Tier Firms (e.g., E&Y, PWC, KPMG, Deloitte, Grant Thornton)
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
-Professional certification CPA, CA CTA preferred
-Strong English (written & spoken) is a requirement
-Strong Japanese and/or Korean (written & spoken). Fluent in both languages is preferred
-Proactive individual with strong leadership, influencing and collaboration skills with ability to partner at all levels
-Ability to manage tax projects with multiple stakeholders and resolve conflicts to achieve optimal results
-Strong complex problem solving and analytical abilities with great attention to details;
-Ability to articulate and communicate effectively to key stakeholders locally and regionally;
-Independent and good collaborative and teamwork skills with some project management skills;
