POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for ensuring the quality of the product by means of visual and dimensional inspections to plastic components during production. Also, responsible for visual and dimensional inspections to plastic components during phase of validation of new or existing molds.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: .

  • Performs dimensional and visual inspection during the start-up, production shift and phase of validation.

  • Performs functional test during the start-up, production shift and phase of validation.

  • Performs dimensional and visual inspection for end of run.

  • Interprets drawings, plans, specifications and test procedures. It is used for test and measuring equipment used in the areas of quality and operations. Basic knowledge in the techniques of statistical process as prevention of the quality system.

  • Support process improvements, cost reductions/savings, scrap reductions, etc. through the implementation of LEAN concepts

  • Properly document all process-related data.

  • Follow all company policies and safety rules.

  • Must observe all good housekeeping practices

  • Exhibits regular, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance.

  • Performs other duties as assigned based on business needs.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent in experience, Bachelor’s degree is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in inspection and/or measurement of plastic components or similar position.

  • Knowledge in metrology equipment such as optical comparators, calipers and indicators, among others.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Knowledge in E-dart software a plus.

  • Proficient in computer use including Microsoft Office, Minitab.

PHYSICAL & TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS : .

  • Must be able to perform job duties as required with limited physical demands

  • Minimal to no travel requirements
