About the Department Based on the Carnegie Foundation Classification System, The University of Cincinnati (www.uc.edu) is a Doctoral Granting Research University with very high research activity (RU/VH). It is part of Ohio's higher education system with over 50,000 students in attendance. The Sport Administration Program is located within the School of Human Services in the College of Education, Criminal Justice, Human Services, and Information Technology. The School also includes undergraduate and graduate programs in Behavior Analysis, Counseling, Exercise Science, Health Promotion and Education, and School Psychology. The School is a leader in online course and program development, and there are many active collaborative activities across programs and with community partners. The Sport Administration program began in 2008 and has experienced continued growth since its inception. The Bachelor of Science in Sport Administration has approximately 480 student majors. The Master of Science in Sport Administration is an online graduate program focusing on Interscholastic and Intercollegiate Athletic Administration. The graduate program has approximately 120 students. A doctoral degree program is slated to begin in Fall 2024. Job Overview The University of Cincinnati is currently accepting applications for a non-tenure-track Assistant Professor - Educator in Sport Administration. Essential Functions Teach a diverse set of undergraduate and graduate courses, including online courses, in topic areas such as sport marketing, sport public relations, sales, management, sport finance, sport governance, ethical issues in sport, sport analytics, and sport law. Apply an educational approach to teaching which incorporates application-based, project-based, and/or experiential learning. Organize and engage with students in professional development initiatives outside of the classroom (e.g., advise student groups, attend industry conferences/conventions, guide volunteer experiences, etc.) Assist with program growth and development including but not limited to curriculum and degree planning. Collaborate with university colleagues and community partners for tasks including but not limited to supporting student field placements and planning program events (e.g., alumni, professional development, community.) Service on Program, School, College and University committees, including but not limited to serving on search committees, scholarship review committees, reappointment, promotion, and tenure review committees. Minimum Requirements Prior to date of appointment, candidates must have all of the following: Master's degree in Sport Administration or related field. Three (3) years of professional, management, or a combination of both, experience in the sport industry or a field directly related to the program's curriculum.
