POSITION TITLE: ENVIRONMENTAL, HEALTH, AND SAFETY SPECIALIST FLSA STATUS: EXEMPT-SALARY

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ensure that all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EH&S) related activities are carried out in accordance with Company Policies and Procedures and to ensure that the facility complies with all EH&S regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Director of Human Resources with a close partnership with the Director of Operations.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Implement and lead the EH&S Program.
Establish EH&S Annual Operating Plan, Goals and KPIs.
Administers EH&S training programs - tracks/maintains records of all training logs.
Provides and ensures training is completed for all employees, visitors, and contractors.
Conduct risk analysis and implement corrective actions as warranted
Responsible for accident prevention through safety audits, implementing and managing safety committees/teams, monitoring metrics, and conducting safety toolbox talks
Maintains EH&S related policies, procedures, documents, and records.
Maintains current knowledge of OSHA, EPA & DOT regulations
Assists with regulatory reports/submittals and permitting for facility.
Key liaison for regulatory inspections.
Develop cross-functional partnerships to leverage internal resources.
Manage EH&S and ESG scorecards
Other duties as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree in environmental health & safety or related field, strongly preferred.
Formal safety certification preferred
2+ years of experience in a similar role.
Experience training EHS topics to a manufacturing workforce
Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and prioritize accordingly
Very attention to detail oriented
A positive attitude and a ‘roll up your sleeves’ mentality to get the job done
Excellent people skills – ability to build positive relationships at all levels of the organization
Excellent Microsoft Excel skills and demonstrated proficiency in MS office
