For more information, please visit our website atwww.sunchemical.comor connect with us onLinkedInorTwitter HR Director, North America Sun Chemical is seeking a HRDirector, North Americato join our corporate HR team, based hybridfrom one of our key sites (Parsippany, NJ/Chicago or Cincinnati, OH preferred).The position is the senior-most HR leader for North America operations, and oversees an HR team of 20 professionals, including 10 direct reports. The position sits on the North America Business Management Team as well as the global HR Leadership Team and acts as the HR Business Partner for the President of North America and the Chief Manufacturing Officer as related to NA Operations. The position holds responsibility for all HR and Labor Management activities in the United States and Canada, including approximately 3000 employees and nearly 40 manufacturing sites, labs, and corporate offices. Duties & Responsibilities: Business partner-minded professional that develops a strong partnership with the with key members of the Senior Leadership Team and Operations leaders by putting in the time and effort to learn the business, talent needs, and organizational structure. Partners with senior leaders to align talent and strategy to help drive business results. Metrics-driven leader that leverages data and benchmarking to help influence leaders when striving for improvements or change. Challenges HR direct reports to leverage workforce analytics to drive decisions on talent, risks to the business, and development needs. Approachable leader that is as comfortable discussing the business with the Chief Manufacturing Officer and other Senior Leadership Team (SLT) members as they are walking the floor and engaging with production teams. Experience leading HR transformation projects including rewards and recognition, employee engagement, leadership development, and other continuous improvement initiatives. Coaches and develops HR team, regularly interacts through site visits, monthly 1:1s and seeks feedback from business partners to help address development and growth needs. Active and empathetic listener; takes responsibility for improvement opportunities and follows through on commitments to build trust and credibility. Has the managerial courage to speak up and challenge leadership, peers, and employees when needed. Isn't going to shy away from difficult conversations when it is necessary. Oversees planning and execution of strategic restructuring projects. Responsible for HR compliance, including policy administration, reporting compliance and adherence to various regulatory requirements. Leads open-door, engagement, and rewards and recognition culture, holds leaders and HR team accountable for these activities. Leads and facilitates business engagement activities such as town hall meetings. Handles all aspects of labor relations including first chair CBA negotiations, grievance and arbitration processes, and union organizing campaigns. Knows what to look for when interacting with leaders, supervisors, and employees when there are union avoidance concerns. Responds accordingly
