Ryder ecommerce by Whiplash is looking for a finance professional who is detailed oriented, collaborative, organized, highly technical and agile to manage a wide range of financial reporting, analysis and modeling duties. The primary focus of the Finance Manager is to provide timely, insightful, and actionable analysis of various business initiatives while supporting the Region’s financial reporting. The Finance Manager will be highly involved in creating the annual operating plan and re-forecasts, driving the finance-related function, and accountable for customer collections within the division.
The ideal candidate for this position is a creative, resourceful, self-starter who is detail-oriented, has excellent communication skills, the ability to work seamlessly with cross-functional teams and strong process management skills. This role reports to the Finance Group Director.
HYBRID WORK FROM HOME: local to City of Industry, CA area
2 days in the office and 3 days working from Home
Work in conjunction with other financial analyst and responsible for supporting the management, analysis, and reporting of division, building, and account level finances in a dynamic, fast-paced warehousing, distribution, and transportation environment. Responsibilities include, at the direction of the Finance Manager, driving the finance-related functions within the division - including oversight of warehouse and transportation monthly processes, revenue and margin forecasts and analysis, and generation of ad-hoc reports. This individual coordinates input from multiple business functions including a national sales team, engineers, operators, financial analysts and the company leadership team. This is an important, multi-faceted role with opportunity for growth, development, and advancement.
Be conversant with operations and prepare supporting financial analysis to enhance profitability and efficiency.
Assist SFM with review of preliminary P&L each month with GMs and ensure financial key metrics are understood and analyzed. Complete adjustments as needed. Prepare special ad-hoc reports for GMs and Accounting and ensure accuracy.
Identify and investigate any trends, variances, unusual expenses, or unusual accounting transactions.
Explain variances and what drives them to divisional and corporate leadership.
Co-develop assumptions and drive the creation of divisional budgets and forecasts throughout the year.
Ensure revenue reports by customer and GL account number are accurate. Ensure proper transportation revenue and variable cost matching in each accounting period.
Monitor weekly payroll expense and temporary agency costs and stats.
A thorough knowledge of accounting principle fundamentals, procedures and systems with a solid understanding of financial planning and analysis, and cash flow.
Requires a four-year degree in accounting, finance, or business administration with accounting or finance emphasis.
One to three years of analytical experience (in consulting, financial, or logistics field) Logistics experience preferred but not required.
Exceptional analytical skills with ability to isolate activities that drive performance.
Highest ethical standards and values.
Transportation experience very helpful.
Experience in E-commerce, apparel, or retail warehousing and/or with a 3PL a plus.
As this position interacts with different disciplines excellent verbal and written communication skills is essential.
Strong PC skills including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and proficiency in the rest of the Microsoft Office Suite (Access, Word, and PowerPoint) required.
