Warn Industries Maintenance Plant Journeyman Electrician in Clackamas, Oregon

The Warn Group is looking for an experienced Maintenance Plant Journeyman Electrician to work at our Warn Industries HQ in Clackamas, OR.

Under direct supervision of the Supervising Electrician, the Maintenance Plant Journeyman Electrician will perform preventative maintenance on all equipment and machinery on the manufacturing floor. Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on machinery, and TPM projects. The Maintenance Plant Journeyman Electrician must be able to run and bend conduit and size circuits for equipment and motors. Essential Functions:

  • Work safely and without injury.

  • Preventative maintenance and troubleshooting electrical breakdowns facility wide, as needed.

  • Assembles and installs electrical, mechanical and electro-mechanical equipment and systems in a project environment.

  • Performs assigned work in compliance with National Electric Code.

  • Use electrical tools, equipment and understand meters, in addition to a variety of hand tools, power tools and other machines to perform job duties.

  • Basic knowledge of computer maintenance software, experience with Mainsaver is a plus.

  • Participates in team meetings as required (safety, problem-solving, etc.)

  • May be required to work overtime.

  • Ability to understand control systems and manufacturing machinery.

  • Ability to identify root cause and recommend improvements if needed.

  • Perform basic troublseshooting on CNC machine tools and may be asked to troubleshoot to higher levels if needed.

  • Positively engaged with engineering when asked to assist with automation projects.

  • Create a culture of respect, accountability and fun.

Availability Requirements:

Due to the nature and scope of the essential functions of this position, the importance of personal interactions with coworkers, and the availability of job-related tools, equipment and resources at work, performance of the essential functions requires regular, consistent availability, accessibility, and presence on-site.

Approximately 40 hours / week may be required to efficiently perform the job duties of this position, including presence at designated internal meetings. Overtime is on an as needed basis with increased hours during projects.

Required Education and/or Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

  • Two or more years Journeyman Manufacturing Plant Electrical experience preferred.

  • Current State of Oregon Limited Manufacturing Plant Journeyman License (PJ) or State of Oregon General Journeyman Licensed is required.

Required Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Must be able to use electrical tools and have a basic understanding of electrical meters and electrical theory.

  • Ability to troubleshoot machinery to a basic level as well as to troubleshoot to the component level if needed.

  • Ability to run and bend conduit and size circuitry.

  • Must be able to perform preventative maintenance tasks and identify potential issues with machinery and equipment.

  • Ability to positively interact in a professional manner with other employees.

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.

  • Ability to work collaboratively and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, customers, and visitors.

  • Ability to effectively solve problems, identify potential issues with PLC’s and trouble shoot as needed.

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service skills.

  • Ability to facilitate activities necessary to a project’s completion.

  • Must be able to effectively use a company issued laptop.

  • Receive, understand, evaluate, and appropriately respond to communications from employees, members of management, customers, vendors, and visitors using available technology, in person and in a public setting when necessary.

  • Work for extended periods of time in a while performing repetitive mechanic-related movements that may include consistently grasping, moving, and manipulating parts, tools, equipment and product in conjunction with completing required job tasks.

  • Observe and detect anomalies, quality deficiencies and potential safety hazards using sound, vibration, appearance, temperature, performance, and other measurable quality control indicators.

  • Move to, from and within the designated work area frequently and consistently throughout the workday and regularly throughout our building and/or across Warn-related property site locations, possibly during inclement weather.

  • Use a personal computer or other technology devices frequently and consistently for the purpose of reviewing, analyzing, creating, transmitting, and presenting documents, data and other business-related information.

  • Must be able to see all colors, depth perception and a full field of vision.

  • Lift, transport and/or move a specified amount of weight frequently each day in the performance of regular duties as outlined below with respect to each assembly area. Occasional bending, stooping, kneeling, climbing, and descending a ladder may also be required.

  • Individual must be able to work at heights.

  • Must be able to lift 35lbs unassisted, and occasionally up to 100lbs with assistance.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, write, verbalize and comprehend instructions and correspondence at the highest levels in the English language. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and group situations to customers, clients, and other team members. Conflict resolution skills. Excellent interpersonal skills. Excellent verbal and customer service skills.

Mathematical Skills:

Must have basic computation skills equivalent to education requirement. Higher skills may be required depending on actual job duties.

Environment/Atmospheric Conditions:

This position is performed in a shop environment. Team members in this position will be exposed to loud operating machinery, cold temperatures, chemicals and vapors. The team members will frequently be required to work outside and at heights. The team member may occasionally be required to work in an office environment.

Hand and power tools, ladders, lifts, scissor lifts, boom lifts, cherry pickers, and personal computers.
