Job Description
We are looking for a Sr. Application Developer to join our team. This role will develop new integrations, update code in existing applications, and support other efforts as projects and support requests arise within the Business Technology Services Department. This position will be full-time and 90% remote .
What You’ll Do
Develop new integrations, update code in existing applications, and support other efforts as projects and support requests arise within the Business Technology Services (BTS) Department
Utilize expert-level proficiency in full stack development to perform tasks requiring creative and original thinking with extensive latitude for individual initiative, judgment, and discretion
Occasionally provide afterhours support to maintain mission-critical integrations for some county organizations that operate 24x7
What You'll Need
Required:
Minimum 5 years’ experience designing and developing web-based applications
Experience creating and consuming RESTful and SOAP web services
A good understanding of relational databases and SQL programming. Proficiency in programming languages: .NET/C#, Java
Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as Angular or React
Ability to pivot to new technologies and a fast learner
Experience in system design, with contributions to solution architecture discussions
3 years’ experience developing and deploying applications in Amazon Web Services (AWS)
AWS Foundational Understanding
Preferred:
Experience with Authentication and Authorization technologies such as: JSON Web Tokens (JWT), Okta, OAuth 2.0/OIDC, and/or SAML
Python, Node.js, Oracle ADF, or JavaServer Faces (JSF) programming experience
Experience developing and deploying web applications using Spring and EJB
Experience developing and deploying web applications using AWS serverless architecture (S3, Lambda, API Gateway, SAM)
Experience with AWS integration stack (Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS, SNS)
Experience with FME or other low-code integration platforms
Experience with complex AWS implementations
Experience with Git source code repositories
Some project management skills and highly organized
Great documentation and communication skills
Strong knowledge of DevOps platforms and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) frameworks
Experience with Test Driven Development (TDD)
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
