University Hospitals Health System Equipment Specialist in Cleveland, Ohio
Description Position Summary This role will be responsible for organizing, tracking and managing multi-million dollar equipment inventory for Adult Acute Care Nursing Services at UH Cleveland Medical Center. This position will work with management, physicians, service leaders, nursing staff, vendors and other key stakeholders to ensure equipment is in good working order, available, accessible and well-maintained. Essential Functions Maintains a list of current inventory of available equipment necessary to run the unit/specialty. Coordinate with Unit Secretaries to order equipment and supplies approved by department leadership. All equipment will be cleaned per Infection Prevention Standards and per MDS standards of UH. Additional focus will be controlling the equipment location within the unit. Responsible for keeping equipment areas neat and orderly in order to permit the accurate tracking of equipment and the identification and maintenance of equipment. Work with unit leadership to develop and implement practices to reduce obsolete or unwanted equipment inventory. Responsible for maintaining communication with designated service line managers in order to ensure timely and accurate flow of information regarding broken equipment, repairs and other equipment problems and concerns. Partners with leadership to manage database of all equipment with purchase date, end of life date and maintenance records. Utilize database for tracking equipment, maintenance, and coordination of repairs. This person is knowledgeable of other departments and may be asked to perform tasks such as lab courier Maintains in-depth working knowledge of systems required for unit operations (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) and regulatory requirements.
