Physical Therapist - Outpatient Ortho and Vestibular
Cleveland Clinic's new Neurological Institute, scheduled to open in 2026, will be a state-of-the-art facility that makes it easier to treat high-acuity patients - those suffering from brain tumors, strokes, and complex spine injuries - without them ever having to leave the facility. Part of the new Neurological Institute is a 210-bed inpatient area with enhancements that include modular spaces, floor-to-ceiling windows in all-private rooms, video technology to monitor patients, and a 'touchdown' space with computer between every two rooms on our inpatient floors, and relaxing lavender rooms on each inpatient floor to offer our caregivers an area to decompress. We are eager to welcome new caregivers to the team.
As a Physical Therapist, you will work with a wide variety of patients with vestibular conditions and orthopaedic diagnoses, such as BPPV, vertigo, hypofunction and post-concussion in an outpatient setting. This department has friendly staff with a wide range of clinical experience and resources and advancement to Senior Therapist and Clinical Specialist roles.
A caregiver in this position works the day shift with a schedule ranging from 7:00AM - 6:30PM. This schedule requires a caregiver to work 3 days at Cleveland Clinic's Main Campus and 2 days at Cleveland Clinic's Beachwood Family Health Center.
A caregiver who excels in this role will:
Evaluate and conduct medically prescribed physical therapy treatment programs.
Perform initial and ongoing assessments.
Establish, revise and evaluate plans of care.
Perform physical therapy interventions utilizing standard physical therapy techniques and skills appropriate for the patient's age and condition.
Supervise the activities of physical therapy assistants, students and other support caregivers.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's degree or certificate.
Graduate of a Physical Therapy program accredited by the Americal Physical Therapy Association.
Current state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Flexibility in schedule to assist with evening coverage until 6:30PM.
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Experience in a clinical area, specifically orthopaedic/vestibular outpatient experience.
3 years of experience as a vestibular trained outpatient Physical Therapist OR new grads with relevant clinical rotations.

Physical Requirements:
Ability to walk and climb stairs without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling.
Ability to meet physical demands characterized at the heavy level defined by 1993 Leonard Matheson and Ministry of Labor.
Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm and leg during therapeutic treatment program.
Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient pulse.
Visual acuity to observe patient's gross and fine motor movements in order to analyze these movements and to read all patient monitors.
Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families.
Ability to hear at a conversational level to understand patient's description of symptoms and response to treatment.
