Trauma / Critical Care Surgeon
The Division of Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, Burns, and Acute Care Surgery at MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, Ohio, is accepting applications for a full-time academic surgeon. Successful candidates should be board-certified/eligible in General Surgery with added qualifications in Surgical Critical Care and have a strong interest in teaching. An academic appointment to Case Western Reserve University (CWRU) commensurate with the candidate’s academic record will be offered.
We are seeking a full-time faculty commitment from a surgeon interested in providing high quality care to trauma, emergency general surgery, and critically ill patients. Our group prides itself on how well we work together to provide care to the nearly 3000 trauma patients admitted per year. The candidate would take approximately 4 to 6 calls per month covering acute care surgery (trauma, general surgery, and critical care). We are looking for a team player who is interested in developing their academic career. We have a critical care fellowship program and train residents from all over the region including many ED residents, Cleveland Clinic surgery residents, and our own surgical residency program through CWRU and University Hospitals of Cleveland. There is opportunity for leadership development and growth both locally and regionally.
MetroHealth Medical Center is a large teaching hospital that is part of Case Western Reserve University School of Medicine. The 700+ bed hospital is an ACS verified Level I adult trauma, Level II pediatric trauma, and Level I burn center with over 6000 trauma activations per year.
