job summary:
Industry-leading producer local to Cleveland and Akron seeks a Metallurgist with process engineering experience for a role combining both disciplines. You should have floor-level process engineering, either from a heavy industrial or heavy manufacturing environment. Rolling experience strongly desired. This is a privately-held company where you can feel the impact of your work and get things done without a ton of red tape. Non-union environment with a great culture. responsibilities:
Analyze current rolling processes to identify bottlenecks and inefficiencies
Implement process improvements to enhance rolling and reduce costs
Troubleshoot quality issues with rolled products and implement corrective actions
Collect and analyze process data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement
Participate in incident investigations related to rolling and develop corrective actions
requirements:
BS Metallurgical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering (or similar) required
2+ years process engineering experience required
Experience from a metals environments or knowledge of metal production a plus
Rolling experience or knowledge strongly desired, hot rolling a big plus
Desire to be on the production floor (vs in a lab or at a desk) required
