The Sherwin-Williams Company Senior Financial Analyst in Cleveland, Ohio

The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Consumer Brands Group, Commercial Business Unit (CBU), sales teams. This position will participate in month-end close responsibilities including activities such as month-end reporting, P&L reviews, and balance sheet reviews. In addition, the Senior Financial Analyst will work intently with marketing to support the stage-gate process. The incumbent will also be responsible for the execution of continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and reporting and will participate in special projects as required. This CBU Senior Financial Analyst will partner with the Commercial sales team to provide business and financial support through the following activities: Create, review, and analyze proformas and financial results, while influencing actions to maximize profitability for the group. Analyze and communicate profitability impacts on sales decisions. Ensure accruals are made in accordance with contracts and properly supported on the balance sheet and revise as necessary. Work to resolve financial issues/discrepancies for the business unit to ensure an accurate P&L. Report on variances compared to forecast, plan, and last year. Validate customer programs / agreements are being upheld. Support business needs by creating customized sales reports. Maintain the internal businesses price list, ensuring updates take place in a timely manner. Assist the Commercial Business Units in preparing consistent, accurate, and viable budgets, operating plans, forecasts, and strategic plans. Provide financial support to members of the sales and marketing teams. Coordination of the quarterly P&L reviews. Participate in special projects as necessary. POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field. Preferred: MBA KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: At least 3 years of Financial/Accounting experience Preferred: 3+ years actively engaged in a Finance or Accounting role with increasing responsibility. Experience with Complex Financial Analysis, including broad knowledge of accounting/finance practices. Experience working on a project or involved in a project/team environment. Prior work experience with a sales organization is a plus.
