The Senior Manual Testing Analyst role is responsible for identifying, analyzing and reporting defects in software applications/products. The objective is to ensure that the software application/product behaves as intended, meets business requirements and is reliable for end-users. This role is critical in the software testing process by executing manual tests to ensure the desired behavior of software applications and products. The individual collaborates with cross-functional teams to understand requirements and develop a test plan that covers functionality, usability, performance, compatibility, security, and other aspects of software. The incumbent communicates results to relevant stakeholders to ensure timely and quality software releases. Ultimately, this role is to thoroughly test software applications/products manually before release to ensure compliance with the user's requirements and to identify any potential defects that could affect user experience or software efficiency. Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. Analyze the software application/product specifications, requirements and user stories, and identify potential risks and areas for improvement Develop a test plan and test cases/scripts in alignment with acceptance criteria and application requirements Perform manual testing of functionality, usability, performance, compatibility, security and other aspects of software Develop and implement efficient defect tracking and reporting mechanisms, and provide feedback to senior testers on any issues or inefficiencies in the process Produce status reports and metrics related to the testing process Perform analysis related to enhancements to the application Review and maintain all project documentation in accordance with department procedures Work closely with developers, business analysts, project managers and other stakeholders to ensure timely and quality software releases Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices and emerging technologies Education Required Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field. In lieu of a degree, at least 12 years of experience in software testing Preferred Certifications in Quality Assurance Knowledge & Experience Required 5+ years of experience in manual testing of software applications/products Knowledge of software testing methodologies, processes, tools and techniques Knowledge of operating systems, databases, web technologies, APIs and scripting languages Experience in documenting test cases, tracking defects and reporting test results Experience in manual testing of web, desktop or mobile applications/products Ability to work independently and in a team environment Excellent communication, problem-solving and analytical skills Preferred Excellence in using project management tools like JIRA and Reporting Experience to run/drive high profile meetings such UAT Entry/Exit, Bug Summary Calls etc Strong PowerPoint presentation skills needed Technical Skills Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) Methodology Project Management Methodology Test Management Tools Software Testing & Quality Assurance Methodologies & Tools Automated Testing Tools This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.
