Owens Corning Cleveland 2nd Shift Team Leader in Cleveland, Tennessee

SUMMARY

Multi-skilled on production equipment; scheduling and directing workflow on the production floor including maintenance of inventory control.

Maintains housekeeping and follows all safety, quality and environmental requirements.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Critical:

Maintain plant production efficiency standard

Participate in continuous improvement: 5S, Kaizen, etc.

Allow no customer delays or outages; always take care of the customer.

Ensure that Job Control Plan’s (JCP’s) and work instructions are followed; verify documentation and understanding of training with all associates; all guidelines must be followed.

Ensure all necessary equipment and supplies are provided and available.

Assist in providing Machine Operators with production work orders, labels and all necessary paperwork at the start and end of shifts.

Review work orders before turning in to Shipping/Receiving clerk.

Verify that die changes are done according to Std work, and that all dies are properly stored.

Complete verification of First Piece Sample Check.

Mentor and coach Machine Operators and Production Associates as needed.

Assist in the safe onboarding of temporary and permanent new hires.

Complete Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) and conduct ongoing reviews and revisions of existing JHA’s.

Follow Lock Tag Try guidelines.

Other duties as assigned.

Ability to develop and deliver effective presentations to plant employees

Ability to drive, or to learn to drive, forklifts to support production as needed

Must have ability to communicate effectively with co-workers, supervision and management

Must have the ability to do basic mathematical calculations (add, subtract, multiply, divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals)

Must have ability to learn the inventory, routings, BOM, manufacturing systems in Mapics.

Ability to learn and use basic to advanced Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word and Outlook

Effective problem-solving abilities (root cause analysis)

COMPUTER AND SOFTWARE COMPENTENCIES

The employee must be able to:

Utilize basic knowledge of Microsoft office and data entry skills.

Utilize more than basic knowledge of Excel to maintain spreadsheets and generate reports if needed

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

The employee should have the following:

Must be at least 18 years of age and pass drug screen and employment physical

High school graduate or equivalent preferred

1 year of manufacturing experience preferred, but not required

ESSENTIAL PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT

The employee should possess the ability to:

Ability to lift up to 65 lbs

Enter data and work with computer software.

Perform repetitive motion including some bending, twisting and turning

Utilize both hands – to handle, feel objects, tools, controls, etc.

Utilize near and distant vision abilities

Work with fiberglass insulation
