Minnesota Diversified Industries Career Development Specialist in Cohasset, Minnesota

Description Essential Functions: Serve as Designated Coordinator according to Minnesota Statute Section 245D. Knowledgeable about current licensing standards/requirements to ensure 245D paperwork compliance for each person served. Performs exploration, preparedness, and development and placement activities with Hired Hands employees interested in employment. Training to direct support staff regarding status of service, quality of care, person's situation and outcomes. Ensures the duties of the direct support staff are fulfilled according to responsibilities in the care plan. Maintain contact with social workers, families, legal guardians, conservators and agency contacts and be the primary communicator at MDI for ongoing support and guidance. Facilitate Career Skills classes for MDI employees. Adheres to current company policies and work instructions. Employ effective, respectful and persuasive spoken and written communication skills. Functions effectively in a fast paced, diverse, team environment. Works independently, efficiently manages time, and uses experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Maintain a safe work environment for yourself and others including wearing mandatory Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), such as eye and ear protection. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications: Must have a Bachelor's degree in a field related to Human Services + four or more years related experience OR an Associate's degree in a field related to Human Services + 5 years or more of related experience OR 10 years of full-time experience providing direct care services to persons with behavioral health concerns OR 50 hours of verified DHS specific educational training + 5 years or more of related experience Ability to operate basic computer equipment and peripherals as well as company standard software Able to effectively perform all basic mathematical functions (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and percentages) Ability to effectively read and interpret industry specific documentation Utilizes problem analysis and resolution skills Basic knowledge of agency compliance requirements (SourceAmerica, DEED, CARF, DHS, counties) Basic knowledge of employment laws Satisfactory completion of a DHS Background Study and a criminal background check Valid Driver's License and Satisfactory completion of a Motor Vehicle Record check Verified eligibility for employment in the United States Environment and Physical Demands: A traditional work week (M-F) with MDI core hours. Work during Non-traditional hours required Normal vision is required Works in a typical office setting which includes; Continuously sit, use of computer monitor, mouse, and keyboard, standard telephone, hearing and talking Occasionally lift, reach, rotate hands, stoop, kneel, or crouch Occasionally will work in a typical factory environment (high noise levels, machinery, conveyors, dust, chemicals, odors and temperature fluctuations.)
