Actalent Manufacturing Engineer in Coldwater, Michigan

Job Title: Manufacturing EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Engineer to oversee the machining side of our operations. You will manage and direct 8 lines, including a new Nissan project, and oversee 7-8 direct reports (machining engineers). Your responsibilities will include planning, budgeting, scheduling, and drawing new floor layouts using CATIA. You will also be hands-on, helping with CNC machine troubleshooting, new plant layout ideas, continuous/process improvements, and installation or rebuild of equipment related to machining cast iron castings. Some lines involve wet cut processes with coolant, while others are dry cut. Occasional travel to the GA plant for 1-2 weeks every quarter may be required.

Hard Skills

  • 6-10 years of manufacturing engineering experience

  • Leadership/supervisory experience

  • CNC troubleshooting experience

  • Robotics experience

  • CAD experience - new floor layouts

Soft Skills

  • Strong problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to manage and direct a team effectively

  • Proactive and hands-on approach

  • Strong organizational skills

Job Type

This is a Contract-to-Hire position with a duration of 6 Month(s).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Coldwater, Michigan.

Work Environment

1st shift: 6:45am - 3:30pm or 4:00pm.
