A general farm worker helps with planting and harvesting of crops, raising livestock and maintaining farm equipment. General farm workers will assist the farmer in any way they can and will have knowledge of how a farm runs and what is needed in order to have a successful growing season. A successful candidate for a general farm worker position should have experience working on a farm and working with farming equipment. They also need to know how to work with animals and plants. A general farm worker should have experience working long hours in all weather conditions. Experience lifting heavy objects and doing handyman jobs around a house/farm is also an asset.
