Maintenance Planner

Colonial Heights, VA

The Maintenance Planner reports to the Engineering and Technology Manager and is responsible for all planning and maintenance support at the plant site. This is a very critical role with opportunities for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

• Planning and scheduling all Priority 2, 3, 4, and 5 maintenance work (mechanical, E&I, auxiliary, etc)

• Estimating and initiating work orders for maintenance notifications and providing maintenance support for TAR planning and Site Emergencies.

• Preparing, forecasting, and explaining cost variance for maintenance work

• Responsible for forecast accuracy and budgetary estimates of planned work

• Managing the procurement of equipment, materials, and outside services for maintenance work

• Accountable for managing repairs, purchases, invoices, and receipts of all maintenance needs in plant

• Kitting backlog maintenance work for utilization as fill-in work and reviewing backlog maintenance notifications in SAP

• Accountable for developing and maintaining maintenance documentation, managing updating Bill of Materials for all equipment in the ERP System (SAP)

• Accountable for developing and updating job plans for specific repairs / pieces of equipment

• Accountable for auditing and retaining shop papers and job history forms for maintenance

• Accountable for communicating with Area Coordinators / Maintenance Leader on daily activities and work priorities

• Improving Planning capability through coaching, mentoring, and process innovation

• Develop standard work for critical planning functions, teams, and/or customers

• Serve as Maintenance Supervisor for Unionized Workforce as directed

YOU MUST HAVE

• High School Diploma, GED, or 2-year technical degree, or craft apprenticeship

• 2-years of maintenance experience in planning, scheduling, or supervision in an industrial setting

We Value:

• Prefer 5-years of manufacturing experience in maintenance planning, scheduling, or supervision

• Prefer 5-years of planning experience in an industrial, unionized setting

• Familiar with Honeywell Specialty Materials Maintenance Excellence and HOS

• Strong computer skills in the following applications: SAP, MS Excel, MS Visio, MS Project

• Strong computer skills (Database, Word Processors, Email)

• Knowledge of repair methods for equipment (pumps, heat exchangers, drivetrains)

• Knowledgeable in repair techniques for a broad application of industrial equipment (heat exchangers, pressure vessels, rotating equipment, electrical, instrumentation, etc).

• Hands-on proactive problem solver, comfortable in high-stress, high pressure situations

• Demonstrated ability to work effectively with individuals at all levels of an organization

• Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment

• Proven ability to influence others to drive organizational change and foster linkage between business objectives and employee development.

• Willingness to take the lead in the development and improvement of new/existing processes

• Able to manage multiple priorities and plan workload effectively

• Strong written and verbal communication skills
