Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Contracts Administrator – Principal Level 3 or Senior Principal Level 4 to join its team of qualified and diverse individuals supporting its Launch & Missile Systems Division. The successful candidate will be report to Contracts Administration Leadership and will have responsibility for the administration and oversight of contractual obligations and compliance.

In this role, the successful candidate will be responsible for administering, extending, negotiating and terminating standard and nonstandard contracts. They will conduct proposal preparation, contract negotiations and contract administration in accordance with company policies and legal requirements.

As a Contract Administrator, the selected candidate will be part of the Contracts office staff and will report to the OU Senior Contracts Manager on all contract related activities. They will monitor baseline contract activities and administer anticipated future pursuits.

This position will be based out of our COCO5 office in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO and can be hired as either a level 3 or level 4.

In this role, the selected candidate will:

  • Perform contract administration per the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and Defense Federal Acquisition Regulation (DFAR) requirements and Northrop Grumman policies and procedures.

  • Lead solicitation review/analysis, proposal preparation, and commitment review and signoff in accordance with applicable procedures.

  • Negotiate, administer, extend, and close various types of contracts (federal government and direct commercial contracts)

  • Collaborate effectively with the program team (finance, supply chain, quality & mission assurance, legal, pricing, and compliance) to recommend and complete actions to ensure satisfactory program performance and proposal activities.

  • Work with Operating Unit, program, business management, and other functional teams to closely monitor contract funding and payments.

  • Advise programs and management of contractual rights and obligations.

  • Provide for proper contract acquisition and fulfillment in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications.

  • Establish successful working relationships with internal and external customers via email, telephone, and in-person, when appropriate.

  • Examine estimates of material, equipment services, production costs, performance requirements, and delivery schedules to ensure accuracy and completeness.

  • Document contract administration actions and maintain historical information including official correspondence in identified systems and files.

Basic Qualifications for Principal Level 3:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 6+ years of contract management experience, or Master’s Degree and 4+ years of contract management experience

  • Will consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements

  • Experience with multiple contract types (i.e. Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee)

Basic Qualifications for Senior Principal Level 4:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and 10+ years of contract management experience, or Master’s Degree and 8+ years of contract management experience

  • Will consider an additional 4 years of experience in lieu of a degree

  • Knowledge of FAR/DFAR requirements

  • Experience with multiple contract types (i.e. Firm Fixed Price, Time & Materials, Cost Plus Fixed Fee)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in Defense or Aerospace

  • Current Northrop Grumman experience

  • Current active DoD clearance

  • Experience with incentive fee and award fee contract types (Fixed Price Incentive Fee, Cost Plus Award Fee and CostPlus Incentive Fee)

  • Contract Management Certification (Certified Professional Contract Manager, Certified Commercial Contract Manager, Certified Federal Contract Manager, Certified Contract Management Associate)

Salary Range: $80,600 - $121,000

Salary Range 2: $99,900 - $149,900

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
