JOB SUMMARY: The Manager I, Laundry Engineer has overall responsibility for plant equipment, facility power/utility systems (electrical, steam, water, etc.,) as well as the building and grounds of the operations. This position works closely with the Production Managers and Laundry Supervisors to ensure smooth day-to-day operations as it relates to maintenance and production needs. The Manager I, Laundry Engineer ensures and optimizes the operational capacity of the Laundry Facility by performing comprehensive major and minor repairs, conducting preventive maintenance. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Equipment Maintenance: The Manager will inspect, maintain, and repair all processing equipment to include but not limited to washers, dryers, bundling, pressing, tying, and folding equipment; boilers and rolling stock. The incumbent will honor all warranties on all machines, maintain laundry plumbing, electrical and security systems and contact by phone, appropriate maintenance or vendor tech l when unable to resolve issues in a timely manner. The Manager must maintain housekeeping and safety standards including wearing protective equipment as required and cleaning up the area after performing any Maintenance Tracking and Reporting: The Manager must complete all necessary documentation; including preparing and maintaining parts inventory control systems, repair and maintenance records, inspection records, and other reports as required for the facility. The incumbent will complete and turn into the Laundry General Manager preventative maintenance checklists, communicate continually with the Laundry General Manager as it relates to maintenance of equipment, problems and any supplies and parts needed to purchase. All purchases must be planned, maintained and managed within the allocated budget in coordination with the Laundry General Manager. This position executes an effective PM program to minimize unscheduled equipment downtime. Relationship Management: The Manager will keep the Laundry General Manager informed of progress, considerations, and pertinent information; communicate significant problems to the Supervisor with ideas for solving identified problems and deal effective and calmly with non-routine situations following accepted guidelines. In addition, the Manager will participate in team meetings and in-service training sessions and perform other duties as assigned including working as a production worker when all duties are complete or when directed by Laundry General Manager. The Manager will also serve on the safety, fire and evacuation teams, requiring knowledge of OSHA, EPA guidelines and state/ local/federal laws and regulations as applicable to commercial laundry operations. This position will communicate regularly with Maintenance Techs regarding work assignments and ensure effective completion of all delegat QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Experience: Five (5) years previous experience in maintenance engineering in a similar position including specific knowledge of machinery maintenance, electricity, electronics, plumbing, hydraulics, pneumatics, welding and boiler applications. Experience in general facility repairs. Other: It is preferred that the incumbent have excellent written and verbal communication skills and demonstrate the ability to interact with various types of internal and external customers including working with persons with disabilities and disadvantaging conditions. The Incumbent must have a high degree of maturity, good judgment, responsibility and initiative, with excellent problem solving and analytical skills. The incumbent must be neat in appearance with appropriate hygiene, grooming and dress for the job. Overtime required as needed to ensure production maximization A valid Colorado driver's license without a history of violations is also required*, with the ability to travel in personal vehicle with necessary insurance. *Per contract requirements with vehicle insurance provider: Qualified candidates must be 21 years of age and have no major traffic violations for previous 3 years (for driving/insurance purposes). Must have reliable transportation; must also be able to operate company vehicle.
