Defense Unicorns Golang Software Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Role Description:
Defense Unicorns is seeking multiple levels of Golang Software Engineers to work on Zarf and Lula, two of our open source projects. This role will work closely with fellow software engineers, and the Open Source Community.
Mid: $165,175 - $196,749
Senior: $186,74 - $245,143
Responsibilities: Core contributor to Open Source Tools within Defense Unicorns. Develop in Golang, contributing to a team that inspires continuous improvement. Work with engineers internal to the company, and within the open source community to reproduce issues and collaborate on fixes. Actively participate with the open source community via Kubernetes Slack, Github Issues, and Google Groups. Work closely with teammates to ensure a cohesive culture. Loves to grow! Enjoys thinking critically, learning new technologies, and working with the team to cut through ambiguity. Comfortable in an asynchronous, all remote environment.
Travel Expectations/Requirements: 5-15%

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: 3+ years (mid) or 6+ years (senior) with software engineering. Comfortable in Golang, familiarity with Rust is a plus! Familiar with Kubernetes (Controllers, Operators, CRDs) Contributing to Open Source Projects such as: participating in Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), Apache Software Foundation (ASF), or Open Source Security Foundation (OpenSSF) is a huge plus! Excited to assess intricate problems, propose solutions, and implement them effectively. Strong communication and collaboration skills, comfortable conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences. Experience working proactively, managing time efficiently, and thriving in a vibrant remote work environment! ?
