Collins Aerospace is looking for an onsite New Product Introduction (NPI) Buyer for our Mission Systems team in beautiful Colorado Springs, CO. The ideal candidate for this role will possess outstanding written and verbal communication skills, as well as a keen understanding of the Collins Aerospace industry and supply chain dynamics. They will serve as a crucial liaison between internal and external stakeholders at Collins Aerospace, driving and executing procurement initiatives with precision and effectiveness. Responsibilities encompass managing supplier relationships, overseeing purchasing activities including spot buys and requisition processing, conducting negotiations, and facilitating clear communication between engineering teams and suppliers.

Moreover, the role involves actively monitoring and evaluating supplier performance, utilizing supply chain strategies, and ensuring timely part deliveries. The individual will be deeply committed to personal and professional growth, striving for expertise within their designated part family and contributing actively to a culture of continuous improvement.

What You Will Do:

  • Assignments will encompass increasingly intricate providers and commodities, potentially involving the completion of government complaint case files before purchase order release.

  • Evaluates supplier quotes and services to select the most advantageous suppliers.

  • Procures items, materials, or specialized services.

  • Coordinates supply chain deliveries to support production schedules.

  • Collaborates with suppliers to expedite material delivery.

  • Manages the purchase order release process.

  • Innovates solutions to address challenges while adhering to regulations.

  • Maintains an efficient filing system that meets immediate job needs, ISO standards, and industry requirements.

  • Thrives in a dynamic environment with shifting priorities.

  • Adheres to all Collins policies and ethical standards.

  • Performs additional duties as needed.

  • Champions excellence with a solutions-focused approach.

  • Develops and nurtures strategic supplier relationships, including on-site audits, performance reviews, and partnership agreements.

  • Utilizes SAP modules for MRP and Purchasing to conduct data research and reporting.

  • Participates in continuous improvement initiatives as required.

  • Ensures product quality according to Collins' quality procedures.

What You Will Learn:

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically requires a University Degree and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience or in absence of a degree, 9 years of relevant experience

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Comprehensive Supply Chain Management: Proficient in procurement, inventory management, MRP, demand planning, and capacity management to optimize material flow.

  • Lean Operations and Process Improvement: Applied lean methodologies and tools such as standard work, value stream management, and root cause analysis to enhance operational efficiency.

  • Manufacturing Expertise and Quality Management: Knowledgeable in custom fabrication methods, blueprints, MOQs, EOQs, and quality standards to support strategic sourcing, new product introduction, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Data Management and Analysis: Skilled in collecting, aggregating, and presenting data accurately and comprehensibly.

  • Financial Acumen and Budget Oversight: Applied financial analysis techniques to improve budget management, profitability assessment, and project viability; capable of coaching and mentoring less experienced team members.

Minimum Program Qualifications:

The salary range for this role is 77,000 USD - 163,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Specific benefits are dependent upon the specific business unit as well as whether or not the position is covered by a collective-bargaining agreement.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
