SUMMARY: As a Project Engineer in the Construction West, your role is pivotal in supporting the successful execution of construction projects by providing technical expertise, project coordination, and administrative support to the project team. Reporting to the Senior Construction Project Engineer, you will assist in various aspects of project management, including document control, subcontractor coordination, and quality assurance. Your contributions will play a crucial role in ensuring the timely and cost-effective completion of construction projects in the Northwest region. Reports to: Project Manager/Construction Project Manager Clearance Level: Secret Clearance Salary Range: 60,000-80,000 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Assist in the preparation and review of project plans, specifications, and drawings to ensure compliance with project requirements. Support the project team in coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers, and vendors to ensure timely delivery of materials and services. Assist in managing project documentation, including project logs, submittals, RFIs (Requests for Information), change orders, and meeting minutes Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor construction progress, identify issues, and ensure compliance with project specifications. Assist in the review and approval of contractor and subcontractor invoices, change orders, and payment applications. Support the project team in coordinating project meetings, including scheduling, agenda preparation, and meeting facilitation. Assist in tracking project budgets, costs, and expenditures to ensure adherence to budgetary constraints. Provide technical support to project team members, subcontractors, and field staff as needed. Assist in the resolution of technical issues, disputes, and conflicts that may arise during the construction process. Perform other related duties as assigned by management. Daily Duties: Review project plans, drawings, and specifications to understand project requirements. Assist senior project engineers in coordinating project activities and resolving technical issues. Conduct field inspections to monitor construction progress and ensure compliance with design specifications. Assist in the preparation of project documentation, including submittals, RFIs, and change orders. Collaborate with subcontractors and suppliers to track material deliveries and resolve procurement issues. Provide technical support to construction teams, addressing engineering-related queries and concerns. Assist in the review and approval of shop drawings, material samples, and construction methods. Participate in project meetings and provide updates on engineering-related matters. Weekly Duties: Attend project meetings to discuss progress, challenges, and upcoming tasks. Review project schedules and assist in identifying critical path activities. Assist in the preparation of progress reports, highlighting achievements, delays, and upcoming milestones. Coordinate with procurement teams to expedite material deliveries and address supply chain issues. Conduct quality inspections to ensure compliance with project specifications and quality standards. Assist in the resolution of field-related issues and conflicts, working closely with construction teams and subcontractors. Review project budgets and assist in tracking project expenses. Monthly Duties: Review and update project documentation, including as-built drawings, specifications, and manuals. Participate in project review meetings to evaluate project performance and identify areas for improvement. Assist in the evaluation of subcontractor performance and provide feedback for improvement. Conduct training sessions for construction teams on ngineering-related topics and project protocols. Assist in the preparation of project closeout documents, ensuring all requirements are met. Conduct risk assessments and assist in the development of mitigation strategies. Assist in the development of project proposals and bid packages. Key Performance Indicators: Timely Completion of Tasks: Ensure assigned tasks are completed accurately and on time, contributing to overall project timelines. Document Control Accuracy: Maintain accurate and up-to-date project documentation, minimizing errors and discrepancies. Subcontractor Coordination: Facilitate effective communication and collaboration with subcontractors to ensure smooth project execution. Quality Assurance Compliance: Ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications, minimizing rework and defects. Meeting Participation: Actively participate in project meetings, contributing to discussions and following up on action items. Safety Awareness: Demonstrate a commitment to safety by adhering to safety protocols and promoting a culture of safety on construction sites. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: As a Project Engineer, you will not have direct supervisory responsibilities. However, you will work closely with the Senior Construction Project Engineer to support project team members and subcontractors in their respective roles.
