Viking Enterprise Solutions, a division of Sanmina Corporation, is responsible for the design of high performance storage and server systems for the OEM/JDM marketplace. Due to our continued success and growth, VES has an opportunity for a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer. This is an opportunity to join the VES team for an exciting career on the cutting edge in data storage product and server product design. Job Purpose: The Senior Signal Integrity Engineer position will Viking Enterprise Solutions development teams responsible for delivering innovative server and storage products to the marketplace. The SI engineer will perform pre-layout simulation, post layout simulation and perform post layout verification where required. At times, the SI engineer will manage outside test partners to conduct signal integrity related testing on our product set. The successful candidate demonstrates superior technical skills, advanced leadership qualities, shall be self-motivated, proactive, and have good communication and customer interaction skills. Nature of Duties: Derive channel loss budgets for new development projects to include SAS, SATA, PCIe, DDR4/5, Ethernet and other high speed interfaces Perform material trade off analysis and recommendations based on SI studies Develop PCB stack up in conjunction with PCB manufacturing partners Develop trace geometry and layout constraint details prior to layout Perform post layout simulation of designs Perform on-hands SI testing as required Manage third party test labs to conduct SI testing as required Stay current on PCB manufacturing and material trends to maintain leading edge design practices Make material selection recommendations based on cost versus performance Actively participate in design process to include connector selection, PCB stack-up/material selection and other aspects as required/appropriate Ensure all Viking high-speed designs are done in accordance with our internal design requirements Stay current on relevant industry standards as related to high speed design for servers and storage products Education and Experience: Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Systems Engineering (BSEE) or equivalent qualification 8 or more years of relevant signal integrity, product test and development Experience with PCIe speeds up to Gen4 (Gen5 is a plus) Experienced deriving channel loss budgets, layout stack-ups and trace geometries Experience with Ansys SI Tool suite, or other industry accepted tools Experience with Server and Storage products is a plus Salary range: $108,000 - $160,000 Sanmina is an Equal Opportunity Employer - M/F/Veteran/Disability/Sexual Orientation/Gender Identity
