Northrop Grumman Space Systems – Launch and Missile Defense Systems has an exciting career opportunity for a Sr Principal Cyber Systems Engineer – Cyber Mission Lead (24-306) to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Colorado Springs, CO.
Position Overview:
The Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program integrates the Missile Defense System. It is a vital operational system that enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to systematically plan ballistic missile defense operations, to see the battle develop collectively, and to dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. C2BMC supports a layered missile defense capability that enables an optimized response to threats of all ranges in all phases of flight. C2BMC is the force multiplier that globally and regionally networks integrate, synchronizing autonomous sensor and weapon systems and operations to optimize performance. C2BMC is integral to all system ground and flight tests, which verify and exercise all current and future missile defense system capabilities.
Operates under the Cybersecurity Chief Engineer's general technical direction/oversight to implement Cyber capabilities intended to reduce open vulnerabilities across Dev Labs and Ops systems. This position increases the program's ability to meet customer expectations and also allows for greater emphasis on end-product compliance in the OPS environment. Partners with MDA and C2 NT stakeholders to drive Closure and Extension PACs on eMASS for active POA&Ms and Cyber Task Orders (CTOs)
Essential Functions:
C2BMC NT Agile Release Trains (ARTs) to implement system hardening, monitoring, incident response, disaster recovery, and capabilities to counter emerging cybersecurity threats.
Implements a variety of cyber platforms, including security information and event management (SEIM), data loss prevention (DLP), intrusion prevention systems (IPS), ACAS security scans, End-Point-Security, and other cyber tools & platforms to accelerate remediation actions for high/critical vulnerabilities.
Basic Qualifications:

An active Secret clearance is required to start.
9 years' experience with a bachelor’s degree in cyber engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; 7 years' experience with a master’s degree in cyber engineering, computer science, mathematics or a related field; or 13 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
DoD 8140 certification at IASAE - Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA) is required.
Strong working knowledge of:
IA concepts include patch management, two-factor authentication, host-based security, intrusion detection, security event management, and defense-in-depth.
IA requirement generation, IA architecture design, IA audit tools, and IA compliance for mission systems.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including a demonstrated ability to support complex organizational relationships, technical document preparation, and verbal communication skills, are required to present technical IA issues and reports to senior government and military officials.
Strong Cybersecurity analysis background to include:
Identity and Access Management methodologies, vulnerability management, compliance management, database, and enterprise information security infrastructure.
Implement Cybersecurity principles and requirements relevant to confidentiality, integrity, availability, authentication, and non-repudiation.
Experience in cybersecurity requirements evaluation and validation.
Knowledge of Cybersecurity systems engineering principles.
Familiarity with network protocols (e.g., Transmission Control Protocol and Internet Protocol [TCP/IP], Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol [DHCP]) and directory services (e.g., Domain Name System [DNS]).
Knowledge of STIG application and hardening operating systems.
Knowledge of Cyber technologies (e.g., HBSS, ArcSight, ACAS, etc.) and how they impact a mission system.
Experience in Cyber threat assessment and risk management of a mission system.
Knowledge of cyber operations and operational impacts.
Experience in Continuous Monitoring and Authorization activities.
Preferred Qualifications:
Hardening Windows and Linux servers and workstations by GPOs, IAVMs, and STIGs is highly desired.
Familiarity with creating/updating A&A packages is desired.
Network design and software engineering background is a plus.

Additional Northrop Grumman Information:
Salary Range: $133,000 - $199,600
The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
