TEKsystems Windows Systems Administrator (Secret Clearance Required, Will Upgrade To Top Secret) in Colorado Springs, Colorado

TEKsystems is seeking a Windows Systems Administrator to support the Army Space and Missile Defense Command on Peterson SFB in Colorado Springs, CO. Candidates must possess an Active Secret Clearance or higher and will upgrade to Top Secret with SCI (TS/SCI).

Systems Administrators must possess strong problem-solving, analytical and communication skills, in addition to in-depth technical knowledge of the Government's systems' hardware and software. The position requirements vary depending on system complexity, the types of operating and network systems being supported, and the size of the organization. A background in the specific types of hardware and software systems used by the Government is required. Systems Administrators monitor and control one or more mid-range application servers. This position studies program operating instructions to determine equipment setup and operations. Systems Administrators continuously observes

the operation of assigned applications and storage devices to monitor system operation and determines the point of hardware or software failure. This position manipulates systems in accordance with standard procedures to continue operations when individual units of a system malfunction. Systems Administrators confer with software systems engineering or applications programming personnel in the event that errors require a change of instructions or sequences of operations. Systems Administrators maintains operating records such as machine performance and production reports.

Working in conjunction with the CyberSpace IT Team, the day-to-day duties of this job include:

• Perform administration of Microsoft servers, workstations and network infrastructure including troubleshooting, break fix activities, the patching and remediation of servers and workstations, and system audit log reviews as required.

• Installing and configuring software and hardware as required.

• Managing network servers and technology tools.

• Setting up accounts and workstations as required.

• Troubleshooting issues and outages.

• Upgrading systems with new releases and software installs.

• Conducting server builds.

• Analyzing, troubleshooting and resolving system hardware, software, and networking issues.

• Applying DISA Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIG’s) as required.

• Managing Microsoft Active Directory, GPO’s management, Certificate Administration, and Domain Controller Functional services.

• Communicating orally, and in writing, detailed technical information on troubleshooting and implementation efforts

REQUIREMENTS

• BS Degree from an accredited university in Computer Science, Information Technology or equivalent. Additional experience may be considered in lieu of a degree with proven record of experience.

• Candidates are required to have an active Secret clearance with Top Secret eligibility upon hire, and the ability to maintain this level of clearance during their employment.

• DoD 8570 IAT II (CompTIA Security + CE) or higher.

• DoD Computing environment certification.

• Proven experience as a Systems Administrator. Experience with administration of Microsoft Operating Systems (Windows 10, Windows Server 2012/2016/2019).

• Experience with patching and deploying software products and updates using Microsoft Windows Server Update Services (WSUS).

• Comprehensive understanding of Server Management.

• Windows Server operating environments, including Windows Active Directory, Group Policy, and other Microsoft tools.

• Excellent organizational and time management skills.

• Exceptional written communication skills, able to write reports, create tracking spreadsheets and effectively communicate with vendors, auditors, and staff with the highest level of professionalism.

• Ability to deal with complex problems involving multiple facets and variables in non-standardized situations.

• Must possess strong leadership aptitude; demonstrated professionalism in managing multiple tasks and resources effectively.

• Ability to work with no supervision while performing duties

• Knowledge of security policies and general vulnerabilities management.

Desired/Preferred Skills

•Ability to automate simple tasks using PowerShell.

•Virtual machine (VM) technologies (ESXi, VCenter, Vsphere)

•Experience with Linux.

•Experience with databases (MS SQL, PostgreSQL).

•Has working knowledge of AWS or other cloud technologies.
