Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Columbia, Maryland

Description We are offering an opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk to join our team based in Columbia, Maryland. The role involves processing and maintaining customer credit data, and resolving inquiries related to customer credit. This role is crucial in ensuring the financial health of our operations by monitoring customer credit accounts and taking appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments.

Responsibilities:

• Accurately process customer credit applications in a timely manner.

• Maintain and update customer credit records to ensure accuracy.

• Resolve customer inquiries related to credit applications and payments.

• Monitor customer credit accounts regularly to identify delinquent payments.

• Take appropriate actions to collect delinquent payments to mitigate financial risk.

• Scan and code invoices for high volume invoice processing.

• Handle check requests and process 500-600 invoices per week.

• Perform heavy data entry tasks to maintain up-to-date records.

• Utilize software such as JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and Microsoft Excel to perform tasks.

• Perform journal entries for Accounts Payable. Requirements • Possess a minimum of 2 years of experience in an Accounts Payable role or similar

• Proficiency in Accounts Payable (AP), Check Runs, Coding Invoices, Data Entry, and Invoice Processing

• Strong skills in Microsoft Excel and JD Edwards EnterpriseOne software

• Ability to handle high volumes of invoices and manage them in a timely manner

• Strong organizational skills with a keen eye for detail

• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors and internal staff

• Proven ability to maintain confidentiality in handling sensitive financial information

• Strong problem-solving skills, able to resolve invoice discrepancies and issues

• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team

• Proven ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or relevant field is preferable

• Knowledge of general accounting principles and regulatory standards is a plus

• Strong computer skills, including proficiency in MS Office and other financial software.
