Actalent Production Planner in Columbia, Maryland

Job Title: Production PlannerJob Description

Coordinate and expedite the flow of work and materials according to production schedules. Responsibilities include generating, reviewing, and distributing production, work, and shipment schedules, determining progress of work and completion dates, pricing and estimating costs for proposal efforts, and earned value inputs for all assigned programs. Compile reports on progress of work, forecasting, and maintaining required inventory levels, costs, and devising solutions to production problems. Additionally, devise solutions for variances to the production schedule and present to management. Demonstrate proficiency in all planning functions and assist the Planning Supervisor in training and coaching on best practices. Forecast resource volume and timing to meet customer orders, prepare and present implementation plans to management that minimize risks and costs, and set up review points to monitor job progress.

Work Environment

Engineering environment with small production capabilities located in Columbia, MD. The role is primarily office-based in a professional engineering setting. Full-time onsite work is required with the potential for a hybrid schedule in the future based on performance, although no guaranteed timeline exists for this transition.
