  • Responsible for managing and leading the team and processes in the warranty support department
  • Guide junior staff in all aspects of the tasks
  • Monitor and manage part inventories to ensure team is adequately equipped to perform repairs
  • Perform system and subassembly inspections to verify quality requirements
  • Conduct equipment debug and repairs of technical equipment to board level
  • Identify and track problem trends for reporting to department and program management
  • Conduct root cause analyses and initiate team process improvement activities
  • Ensure quality of repair is at highest level possible, identifying relevant action plans, and provide execution.
  • Recommend and approve warranty replacement parts, scrapping and storage
  • Maintain, monitor, and disposition customer equipment received to insure accountability of equipment
  • Build, test, troubleshoot new design hardware, subassemblies or finished products using layouts, wiring diagrams, written and verbal instructions
  • Perform formal Repair Acceptance Testing with Customer representatives
  • Work from drawings, specifications and verbal instructions to assemble, install and wire backplanes, subassembly carriers, and subassemblies into Communications System rack assemblies
  • Assist engineers to perform and validate test procedures
  • Inspect and package outgoing system and materials
  • Help diagnose system or unit problems as well as suggest and implement production improvements
  • Install and configure computer clients, servers and switches in a network environment
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities when required by management
