Boone County Systems and Support Manager in Columbia, Missouri

Responsibilities: This position involves managing and coordinating the work of assigned staff, collaborating closely with County management, and overseeing various administrative and technical functions. Key responsibilities include:

Planning, budgeting, policy development, and implementing departmental and County objectives.

Assisting in developing the IT budget and monitoring expenditures for the County 911 Center and Office of Emergency Management.

Evaluating staffing needs and managing technical staff for computer system installation, implementation, and maintenance.

Assisting in creating technical RFPs, bid specifications, and reviewing new technical proposals.

Overseeing project completion and expectations.

Providing technical consulting services and direct technical support.

Managing system upgrades and software maintenance.

Developing system security procedures and maintaining department system documentation.

Staying updated on new technology trends.

Status: Full-time, exempt, benefited

Working hours: Primarily Monday - Friday, 8:00am - 5:00pm. Hybrid workplace options are available.

Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field and three to five years of computer systems technical support experience on the MS Windows Server platform, three to five years of management experience, or the equivalent combination of education and experience; Must have significant experience in MS Windows Server, IP Networking, Information Technology operations, databases, systems design, logic structures, application administration, PC workstations, and integration of platforms. Excellent written and oral communication, organizational and analytical skills, ability to multi-task, and customer satisfaction skills are essential.

Preferred qualifications: Personnel supervision experience with a working knowledge of administrating servers, database systems, end-user applications, development/production environments, IP networks, user security, file servers, and backup and recovery systems. Exposure and/or experience with VMware, MS SQL Server, MS Active Directory, Web servers, FTP, and ESRI software are also a plus.

Must have a clear criminal history, excluding minor traffic violations, and be able to pass a background check.

Must meet minimum qualifications set forth by the FBI and MSHP CJIS Security policy.

Starting Salary Range: $71,344 - $75,794 Salary commensurate with experience.
