DESCRIPTION

Perform established technical tasks at the product and cross-business integration level for current and future products across the product life cycle. Apply and improve processes such as Engineering Standard Work (ESW), Integrated Design Failure modes and effects analysis (iDFMEA), FIRG and tools such as 7-step problem solving, design review checklist and other specialized tools required to support the processes and enable high quality decision making. Deliver independent execution of established and emerging work processes and systems across smaller business impact projects and complex systems or services with greater elements of ambiguity, while still developing the mechanical technology and product knowledge for lead engineers. Lead the development and improvement of engineering work processes and the monitoring of all aspects of production, including selection of manufacturing methods, fabrication, and the operation of product designs across the functional discipline area within a business unit site. Use appropriate methods and tools including knowledge of System Requirements Engineering to translate stakeholder needs into verifiable requirements to which designs are developed. Identify system capability and risks through analysis or experimental testing of the mechanical system in the context of its environment. Develop architectures for new and next generation products globally, utilizing descriptive system modelling tool (SysML) to capture and analyze architectures and product configurations in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) applications. Utilize Product Failure Mode Avoidance to mitigate potential product failure modes by identifying interfaces, functions, functional requirements, interactions, control factors, noise factors, and prioritized potential failure modes and potential failure causes for the mechanical system to effectively and efficiently improve the reliability of products. Utilize systems design process including requirements allocation, development of subsystem or component verification and validation plans, and architecture definition through system modeling and testing. Evaluate product integration to manage the creation or mapping of tests to requirements and needs for several projects. Manage external supplier relationships and contracts in support of MBSE.
