Job Title: Shop Foreman

Job Description

Perform a variety of tasks related to repair of equipment to fulfill our customers’ needs. Work harmoniously with other employees, providing necessary assistance to satisfy customer needs. Pay close attention to detail and deal with customers effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Provide support to customers, when necessary, within repair and service areas.

  • Oversee all daily service work when Shop Foreman is absent, including shop scheduling, shop quality, RUSH jobs, ASAP work, and routine repair jobs in the shop department, rewind department, machine shop, and large and small horsepower departments.

  • Ensure daily work schedules are completed and customers’ jobs are done in a timely manner. Communicate any changes or problems to the Shop Foreman or Service Coordinator.

  • Assist the Shop Foreman in interviewing and hiring applicants. Manage employees for all shop departments in accordance with company policies.

  • Coordinate the repair and maintenance of all shop equipment with the Shop Foreman and shop personnel, while meeting customer requirements.

  • Oversee the procurement of RUSH rewind materials and stock rewind materials.

  • Pre-approve and authorize all overtime with the exception of emergency rush jobs for a customer. Notify the Shop Foreman the next working day.

  • Direct all shop personnel in proper safety procedures related to their duties, enforce all safety procedures, and ensure the use of proper protective gear.

  • Work all necessary hours to satisfy customer needs, including nights and weekends.

  • Attend seminars, expositions, and various schools to stay current on technical and supervisory information relative to the electro-mechanical service industry.

  • Confer daily with the Shop Foreman and Service Coordinator regarding shop operation, job scheduling, repair problems, customer concerns, employee performance, and other matters as deemed appropriate.

  • Complete requisitions and justifications for needed shop equipment and review them with the Shop Foreman.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1+ year supervising others or in a team lead role

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers

  • 3+ years of motor repair experience

  • Preferred 2-year degree in electromechanical or other related fields

  • 1+ year troubleshooting issues or finding solutions with customers

Work Environment

This role involves working both indoors and outdoors in various climates and conditions inside manufacturing facilities. The team size is 2, and you will report to the Shop Foreman and possibly the Operations Manager. Our company operates 24/7/365, so all employees must provide an effective means of communication for after-hours contact. Overtime is an essential function of this position. The dress code includes jeans and steel-toe shoes.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $28.00
