Position Purpose:
In accordance with the Mission and Guiding Behaviors, the Supervisor, Safety and Security supervises the work activity and development of all subordinates.
To supervise other Security Officers to provide a safe environment required by governmental or other regulatory agencies.
To supervise Security Officers in providing protective services to all persons and property of Mount Carmel Health.
To provide superior quality and outstanding service to our associates, physicians, patients, and visitors.
What You Will Do:
Responds to emergency situations and represents the Safety and Security Manager by taking action in accordance with Mount Carmel Health System directives and maintaining a close relationship and serving as the shift liaison with law enforcement, fire services and other system hospital safety & security teams.
Performs all supervisory functions for the department, to include but not limited to scheduling, production, evaluating (competency), coaching, progressive discipline and counseling. May recommend the hiring and termination of employees.
Review officer activity logs and reports for accuracy and content.
Ensures officers complete assignments and maintains posts as directed.
Participates in and coordinates with organizational process to collect and evaluate information about hazards and safety practices that are used to identify safety management issues. Adheres to established policies and procedures, which may include wearing of personal protective equipment.
Performs all duties expected of a Safety and Security Officer. Also performs other duties as assigned by the Safety and Security Manager/Director.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school graduate or GED required, associate degree preferred.
Licensure / Certification: Receipt of Ohio Peace Officer Training Academy certificate of completion.
Valid driver's (operators) license required with good driving record maintained.
Experience: Minimum three years experience in security, law enforcement or military disciplines or equivalent training which might include criminal justice, homeland security, military schools or law enforcement academy is preferred. Supervisory experience preferred in Law Enforcement, Healthcare or Private Security or Military.
