Behavioral Health- Crisis Support Specialist Requisition ID 2024-52211 Category Behavioral Health Overview Shifts Available: Nights: 11pm- 7:00am (8 or 10 hour shifts- flexible one hour before or after shift start time) Weekends: 7am- 7:00pm OR 7pm- 7:00am (Friday, Saturday, Sunday OR Saturday, Sunday, Monday) Position Starts at $20.70 plus nights and weekend shift differertials FTE- 0.8 (32 hours/ week) OR 1.0 (40 hours/ week), Benefits Eligilbe, Pay to commensurate with relevant experience The Crisis Support Specialist will be responsible for maintaining certification in the crisis intervention model. The major focus of this position is providing crisis intervention training for identified staff and keeping with evidence-based treatment and practice, fidelity to the model currently endorsed by the organization. Responsibilities * Completes and maintains certification in hospital de-escalation safety and restraint training. o This position will be required to pass standards of the training model adopted by the organization upon hire. * Responsible for completing required training for front line staff as assigned * Responsible for clinical components on the different units within the Behavioral Health Pavilion as it relates to the de-escalation and safety training. o This position will be responsible for ensuring fidelity of the model on the different units. o Debriefing after safety events with front line staff and leadership teams within the pavilion. * This position will demonstrate skills and ability to work autonomously to ensure they are prepared for trainings, as well as complete post training requirements (evaluate each member of the class, grade tests, complete competencies, etc.) * Plays an active role in responding to crisis situations and provide in the moment feedback as well as facilitating the debrief with frontline staff as appropriate. * Effectively employs de-escalation strategies and demonstrate appropriate physical restraint, escape, and evasion techniques, as deemed necessary. Qualifications Education: High school graduate or equivalent required. Bachelors or Master's degree in Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Education, Criminal Justice, or related field required; or six years of equivalent experience.
