POSITION PURPOSE:
A Contracts Administrator is responsible for the day-to-day administration and support of a portfolio of Prime Contracts with Federal, non-Federal, and/or Commercial Clients for a North Wind company or companies.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Reviews solicitations and prepares routine responses for proposals, bids, and contract modifications.
May prepare simple requests for proposals.
Analyzes contract requirements, special provisions, terms and conditions to ensure compliance with appropriate laws, regulations, corporate policies and business unit procedures.
Drafts and negotiates simple contractual instruments commensurate with skills and grade level.
Understands and implements contract policy and practice in day-to-day actions.
Ensures contract review, approval, and execution in accordance with corporate and/or business unit guidelines.
Prepares and administers routine/basic correspondence, negotiation memoranda, and contract documentation to ensure timely and coordinated submittal.
Prepares, organizes, and maintains contract records and files documenting contract performance and compliance.
May conduct research to support contract audit and or facilitate business unit contracting trends.
Performs contract setup, administration, and closeout activities including data entry, paperwork processing using various corporate and enterprise software.
Assists mid- to high-level contract professionals in working with internal or external business teams on issues and developments relative to assigned contracts.
Review and understand basic Statement of Work and relationship to contract deliverables and can communicate this to project team members.
Assists in the contract change control process including data entry and coordinating with other functional departments like Project Controls, Accounting, Subcontracts & Procurement, Operations, and Legal.
Able to read, research, and develop a basic understanding of laws, regulations, and contract concepts and their relationship to contract administration and management.
Have a general understanding of the business case and an appreciation of financial/analytical issues and profit and loss implications.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
May be assigned additional team responsibilities that support all team members.
May mentor and train less experienced professionals.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education and Experience:
Bachelor's with at least four years of experience in contract administration and management responsibilities; federal experience preferred over commercial experience.
Degree should be in business, accounting, management, or a similar discipline.
Master's Degree may be used to offset contracts management experience.
Skills and Abilities:
Ability to draft simple, routine contractual instruments and correspondence.
Working knowledge of corporate policies and procedures applying critical thinking towards procedure/policy implementation.
Working knowledge of contracting concepts, Uniform Commercial Code, Federal Acquisition Regulation and its supplements, applicable public contract acquisition law and regulations, and applicable international contract law.
Strong to excellent analytical and communication skills.
Good presentation, leadership, and team-building skills.
Ability to use Microsoft Office and Adobe
Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to the resolution of contract issues.
Emerging ability to excel in a professional, fast-paced environment.
Special Requirements:
Some overtime and/or after local business hours work due to time zone support.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
This is primarily an office-setting position.
