Emergency Department Main Campus - Supervisor (Nights) Requisition ID 2024-52806 Category Nursing Overview 1.0 FTE, 40 hrs/week, night shift, 4 10-hour shifts from 9p-7a or 7p-5a depending on schedule needs. Occasional weekends as needed. 2 years of ED leadership experience required, pediatric preferred. Benefits eligible. The Emergency Department Supervisor serves as administrative designee during hours that administrative staff are not on premises. Manages and oversees the ED operations on evening and night shift. Responsibilities a. Serves as administrative designee during hours that administrative staff is not on premises. b. Manages and oversees ED operations on designated shifts. c. Communicates/collaborates with ED Nursing leadership, staff and providers regarding decisions, issues, and/or problems occurring during designated shift. d. Responds to and serves as a resource and advocate to staff/families, parents to resolve issues, problem solve and promote customer satisfaction. e. Directs ED and other staff in the management and resolution of emergent and or crises. f. Demonstrates knowledge of the Emergency Preparedness and disaster triage. Provides effective leadership and communication during emergencies and disasters. g. Coordinates and directs ED throughout (admission, transfer, and discharge) to ensure that patient/family needs are met promptly. h. Evaluates nursing staff performance in select situations and provides input to written evaluations as requested. i. Assesses individual patient, parent, and unit needs as necessary to direct staff and resolve problems. j. Assesses staffing needs for the ED assists in proactive planning for future shifts. k. Facilitates and collaborates with other departments and individuals including Protective Services, Social Work, PCS Nursing Supervisor, PCD, EVS, Patient Access, and PCTC to facilitate ED patient flow and admissions. l. Maintains select clinical nursing skills in order to direct and assist in patient care and the education of nursing personnel. m. Promotes teamwork by building a team environment and fostering cross functional collaboration. n. Supervises Charge RNs and other ED staff and provides feedback regarding job performance. o.
