JPMorgan Chase Sr Manager of Software Engineering in Columbus, Ohio

As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within Consumer & Community Banking (CCB) - Connected Commerce Technology, you'll combine your years of proven expertise with a never-ending quest to create innovative technology through solid engineering practices. You'll lead a highly inspired and inquisitive team of technologists for developing and deploying applications to the highest standards. With your deep knowledge of design, development, coding, testing, and application programming, your team will raise their game even more, meeting your standards, as well as satisfying both business and functional requirements. Your passion and experience in one or more technology domains will help solve complex and mission critical problems, internally and externally. Job responsibilities

  • Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to mid-level software engineers that work on basic to moderately complex tasks

  • Setup performance and development goals for engineers, conduct performance reviews and guide careers

  • Be accountable for decisions that influence teams' resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures

  • Ensures successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders

  • Identifies and mitigates issues to execute a book of work while escalating issues as necessary

  • Provides input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team

  • Creates a culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect for team members and prioritizes diverse representation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience

  • Ability to guide and coach teams on approach to achieve goals in modernization of microservice based applications in public cloud (AWS) and private cloud technologies.

  • Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent

  • In-depth knowledge of the services industry and their IT systems

  • Hands-on cloud native experience

  • Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field and expertise in technology disciplines

  • Hands on experience in Java, Spring framework, KAFKA or other equivalent event programming technologies.

  • Hands on experience in SQL and NO-SQL distributed database systems (Aurora PostgreSQL, Mongo DB, Dynamo DB, Cassandra)

  • Strong practical knowledge and experience in implementing secure and resilient enterprise systems.

  • Hands on experience in various testing methodologies and frameworks: Contract testing, JUnit testing, Component testing (Cucumber framework), Performance testing (JMeter/BlazeMeter) and Resiliency testing (Gremlin or other similar technologies/frameworks).

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience working at code level

  • Experience working in financial domain (Banking domain)
