Staff RN - Cardiology Clinic Requisition ID 2024-52535 Category Nursing Overview 0.8FTE- 32 hours per week Clinic hours are Monday-Friday, 8a-5p Candidates must be able to work 8-hour shifts w/ some level of flexibility Minimum pay is $34.00 per hr Full-time Benefits Eligible The Cardiology clinic sees patients on main campus (Columbus) and some regional locations throughout Ohio. Nurses and PCAs may be assigned to work at one of these locations on any given day. The team meets at Nationwide Children's Main Campus location and rides together in The Heart Center vehicle. Team members share driving to and from these locations. The typical shift is the normal workday hours, no overnight travel. -The team cares for children and adults of all ages with congenital heart disease. -Main campus clinic sees average of 60 patients per day. All patients have appointments. RNs -Staff Nurses & Clinicians -Administer vaccines, EKGs, delegate to PCA, MyChart- med refills, prior authorization -Nurses & PCAs work directly with the cardiologists Why Nationwide Children's Hospital? Responsibilities * Provides nursing care using a Family Centered approach. * Assesses individualized patient needs. Communicates patient care needs and priorities to assigned Licensed Practical Nurses (LPNs), Patient Care Assistants (PCAs), Unit Coordinators, and Allied Health personnel. * Plans, implements, educates and evaluates care using Evidence-Based Practices. * Utilizes Therapeutic Communication while monitoring the physical, psychological, and social needs of patients and families. * Engages in the "workplace community" by staying aware of changes, participating in data collection or auditing, understanding Quality Improvement, and representing staff at relevant meetings and then reporting important information and updates back to staff. * Documents according to organizational standards, policies, and procedures. Qualifications Education: BSN or Associate degree with commitment to obtain BSN within 5 years of hire. Licensure: Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the State of Ohio. Valid State of Ohio driver's license. BMV check required upon hire. Certifications: Current CPR certification required upon hire. Must be willing to obtain and maintain NRP, PALS, ACLS, APHON or other necessary
