Robert Half Temporary Research Clerk-CS in Columbus, Ohio

Description We are looking for a meticulous Administrative Assistant to join our team in Columbus, Ohio. This role involves researching and analyzing payment history, negotiating and arranging payments with utility vendors, and providing timely feedback to client requests. The successful candidate will also be expected to maintain accurate documentation of payments and work processes.


• Research and analyze payment history to determine the amount of balance due

• Contact utility vendors via telephone to negotiate and arrange payment

• Process payments on designated accounts directly with the vendor

• Provide timely feedback to client requests confirming payment completion

• Negotiate date extensions for receipt of payment or arrange alternative solutions to avoid client shut off of utility service

• Maintain accurate documentation of payments, research, production task time sheets, and updated departmental standards and procedures

• Utilize standard office equipment including computers, copiers, calculators, and facsimile machines for daily tasks

• Perform basic functions in the Microsoft Office suite

• Utilize interpersonal and organizational skills to handle multiple tasks simultaneously and prioritize work

• Apply analytical and problem-solving skills to resolve issues related to the utility billing process. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suites, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Experience with standard office equipment such as printers, scanners, and facsimile machines

• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with both internal and external clients

• Ability to handle administrative tasks such as documentation, training, and implementing procedures

• Experience in conducting research, managing billing functions, and coordinating production tasks

• Proven track record in negotiating with vendors and managing collection processes

• Knowledge of industry practices and principles

• Ability to execute tasks in a timely and efficient manner, including receipt and scanning of documents

• Familiarity with machinery used in the office environment

• Excellent interpersonal skills to work collaboratively with team members

• Ability to manage time sheets and adhere to department standards

• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to multi-task effectively
