Northeast Washington Alliance Counseling Services Job Coach in Colville, Washington
Responsibilities for this full-time position include:
- Providing support to individuals with developmental disabilities in their workplace and/or within their community to create stability and independence;
- Communicate effectively with employers, local businesses, supervisors, co-workers, community members, families, and State partners;
- Document interactions and encounters, write progress reports, maintain client files, and
- Develop and update service plans based on the individual's interests, strengths, abilities, and gifts.
Successful applicants have a heart of service and a genuine desire to help individuals with developmental disabilities gain skills needed for successful employment, integrate within their community, and learn long term independence. Applicants must be flexible, able to work independently, and patient and be able to remain calm and focused under stressful/provoking situations. Applicants must also present well and have the ability to cultivate professional relationships within the community. Minimum preferred requirements:
- Be at least 18 years of
- Must have valid driver's license and have less than 2 moving violations within the past calendar year
- Have high school diploma or equivalent. However, advanced training/classes in developmental disabilities subject matter a plus, and a Bachelor's Degree in human services or related field preferred.
- Possess previous experience working with people who have disabilities.
- Have experience in teaching, training, coaching, and/or mentoring.
- Be proficient in Microsoft Office and have general computer knowledge.
- Work flexible hours and days because work schedules are adjusted to meet the needs of the persons served.
This is a full-time position located in Colville, WA. The NEWACS Employment Program serves Stevens, Ferry and Lincoln Counties and travel throughout these counties is required. Satisfactory criminal history backgrounds check results are a condition of employment.
NEWACS Employment Program will connect you with a dynamic team of employment specialists to provide support and opportunities to grow in this field. This position works a flex, 40 hour work week with varied hours/days.
