    Summary:

    To Provide clinical nursing, educational, and administrative support to the Health & Wellness Director/ Physician Assistant, Supervising Physician, and its internal and external clients.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities :

  • Clerical

  • Type and/or handle a variety of documents, many highly confidential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office required. Maintain/set-up sophisticated filing systems, data entry, etc. Photocopy, scan, and fax documents as required. Attention to detail is critical.

  • Answer phones and emails – screen/handle routine and/or non-critical items.

  • Process in-coming mail; open and sort for priorities.

  • May compile and prepare various reports (requires analysis and comparison of data).

  • Ensure continuance of office routine

  • Coordinate and process general administrative work.

    Clinical

  • Welcomes patients by greeting them, in person or on the phone.

  • Prepares patients for the health care visit by directing and /accompanying them to the examining room, arranging examining room instruments, supplies, and equipment.

  • Verifies patient information by interviewing patient; reviewing and/or recording medical history; taking vital signs; confirming purpose of visit or treatment.

  • Supports patient care delivery by helping health care providers during examinations; providing immunizations/injections; preparing laboratory specimens; performing basic laboratory tests on the premises; disposing of contaminated supplies; sterilizing medical instruments; administering medications on the premises; authorizing drug refills as directed; telephoning prescriptions to pharmacies; drawing blood; perform CLIA Waived tests; spirometry, taking electrocardiograms; removing sutures; changing dressings.

  • Educate patients by providing medication, nutrition, preventative, mental health or exercise information and instructions, answering questions.

  • Completes records by recording patient examination, treatment, and test results.

  • Keeps supplies ready by inventorying stock; placing orders; verifying receipt.

  • Keeps equipment operating by following operating instructions; troubleshooting breakdowns; maintaining supplies; performing preventive maintenance; calling for repairs.

  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following and enforcing standards and procedures, complying with legal regulations.

  • Maintains patient confidence and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential.

  • Serves and protects the physician, physician assistant, or health care provider practice by adhering to professional standards, policies and procedures, federal, state, and local requirements, and HIPPA standards.

  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.

  • Enhances health care practice reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments.

  • This job is safety sensitive for medical marijuana purposes.

  • All other tasks as assigned.

    Education/Skill Requirements :

  • Must have successfully completed and graduated from a licensed practical nurse/registered nurse program.

  • Background in health education, wellness, or nutrition preferred.

  • Phlebotomy drawing certification required. Must have current CPR certification.

  • Working knowledge of general office procedures, plus ability to organize and coordinate group work efforts required.

  • Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred.

  • Excellent communication (written and oral) skills required.

    Physical Demands :

  • Continuously sit, stand, or walk.

  • Bend, squat, climb stairs, or ladders.

  • Lift occasionally up to 50 pounds.

    Work environment:

  • Occasional travel is involved to all locations of the company. Periodic nights and weekends may be required.
