What you'll do The Clinical Laboratory Technologist is responsible for the analysis of laboratory specimens and subsequent result reporting according to laboratory protocol and procedures. The medical laboratory technologist works in collaboration with laboratory staff, pathologist, director, and manager team to provide high quality clinical laboratory services. Medical technologist is responsible for technical and non-technical responsibilities includes performing laboratory testing procedure on state of the art instruments in Hematology, Hemostasis, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Point of Care Testing, Microbiology and Specimens processing. Operates, maintains, calibrates and troubleshooting of instruments. Performs and verifies (reports) laboratory tests and/or prepares products for transfusion on acceptable specimens to obtain accurate data in accordance with established procedures and protocols and in a timely manner. Performs quality control (QC) processes and proficiency testing (PT) as assigned. Maintains laboratory equipment, instruments, reagents and/or supplies and documentation required in performance of job responsibilities. Follows all institution and department policies and procedures. Maintains a clean and orderly work environment. Review, and /or verify work of students, and/or nursing staff as assigned. Performs other duties within their scope of practice as assigned. What we need from you Education: Qualified as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist in accordance with New York State Department of Health regulations, required. 4 years Baccalaureate degree in relevant science preferred or equivalent. Experience: Experience in standard laboratory methodologies required. License/ Certification: Licensure by NYS SED as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist required, or licensure-eligible with a limited permit or limited license as a Clinical Laboratory Technologist. Limited Permit is granted to individuals that meet the educational requirements for licensure except for the licensing examination which must be taken within one year from the issuance of a limited permit. ASCP certification or equivalent is required. Skills: Accountability Accuracy Computer Skills Communication Navigating Politics Reading/Writing/Comprehension Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects. Occasional: Crouching, Standing, Stooping, Kneeling, Lifting, Pulling, Pushing, Reaching, Repetitive Motion, Walking, Fit Testing. Frequent: Typing/ Clerical/ Dexterity, Grasping, Hearing, Repetitive Motion, Talking, Visual Acuity, Seeing/ Monitor/ Computer Use. Hazards: Occasional: Chemical, Bodily Fluids/ Bloodborne Exposure. Travel: Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis. This position is eligible for a sign on bonus up to: USD $20,000.00 Pay Range Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. The above compensation range represents a good faith belief of the compensation range by Bassett Healthcare Network, and its entities and affiliates, at the time of this posting or advertisement. Pay Range Minimum: USD $32.64/Hr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $48.96/Hr.
