The Tissue Processing Supervisor oversees and coordinates functions and activities of tissue processing. Provides support services to meet the needs of the Processing Manager, Processing team, Quality team, and the Plant Manager. Provides administrative and technical leadership for Processing Department. Oversees the referral of product and samples to outside reference facilities, and establishes efficient operational processes related to tracking resulting of reference tests Performs duties in accordance with accepted standards and practices.

This role is 1st shift, Saturday thru Wednesday7:00-3:30pm

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for day-to-day supervision and oversight of the department operation and personnel performing testing and reporting test results.

  • Evaluate and solve problems involved with the collection and processing of donor specimens.

  • Perform moderate and high complexity processing procedures.

  • Check and analyze quality control data. Make informed judgments concerning analytical data. Take appropriate action to maintain accuracy and precision.

  • Respond to inquiries regarding test results, factors affecting tests and specificity and sensitivity of assays.

  • Participate in set up and evaluation of new analytical procedures and techniques, including equipment and personnel requirements, method comparisons and reference intervals.

  • Participate in continuing education programs and seeks to improve skills.

  • Participates in the instructions and training of new technical employees.

  • Assist in the guidance and direction of technicians.

  • Implement and follow safety procedures and regulations in the laboratory and ensure they are followed by others.

  • Interview's applicants and make recommendations for hiring.

  • Maintains confidentiality of information deemed confidential

  • Maintains close working with outside and Reference laboratories as required

  • Always follow company policies and procedures.

  • Enter/verify results.

  • Performs other duties and activities as assigned or requested.

  • Obtain batch records in advance for associated manufacturing operations to prevent delays

  • Document manufacturing activities in real time and perform daily in-process checks of paperwork

  • Supply and receive paperwork from support groups, when necessary, to keep manufacturing operations on track and progressive

  • Provide comments in batch records not limited to non-conformance references or other clarifications

  • Perform daily, in-process reviews of batch records to support good documentation practices

  • Develop, redline, or review associated manufacturing documentation

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School diploma or equivalent. Degree in related science a plus.

  • 1-3 years' experience in a manufacturing environment in the Tissue Banking or Medical Device industry.

  • Basic computer skills for email and data entry.
