The global Information Technology (IT) Function is leading efforts to align IT and Business Strategy, leverage IT investments, and optimize end to end business processes and associated information integration technologies. Through these efforts, IT helps to improve the competitive position of Corning's businesses through IT enabled processes. IT also delivers Information Technology applications, infrastructure, and project services in a cost efficient manner to Corning worldwide.

Role Purpose

  • Design communication plans for projects or programs, establishing expectations for timing and methods of communication. These plans should include status report updates, stakeholder interactions, crucial milestone announcements, governance committee correspondence, and project metric reporting as required by Corning.

  • Oversee the project's alignment and deliverables with the Global Sourcing Partner (Vendor), in collaboration with Corning's Vendor Management office.

  • Monitor and aid in resolving all project or program issues by utilizing tools like RAID Logs, Risk Registers, Issue Logs, or the Planview platform.

  • Facilitate immediate project feedback through retrospective meetings or lessons learned discussions.

  • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging a culture of openness, learning, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and oversee all aspects of multiple concurrent projects and resource teams involving a specific product or domain ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.

  • Employ Agile methodologies throughout the development lifecycle to facilitate continuous improvement and process optimization.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams, including stakeholders and development teams, to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.

  • Develop project plans and schedules, financial tracking, risk management plans, and project documentation. Update and maintain project documents for the duration of the project.

  • Ensure all Corning Quality Processes are followed and required artifacts are maintained on the project repository site. Includes following mandatory Governance and Compliance (i.e., SOX, NIST, DoD, etc.) Model based on Project Risk Score.

  • Act as a servant leader to team members to meet key milestones and resolve technical or operational problems.

  • Frequently connect with customers, including sponsors, key stakeholders, and end users, to comprehend their needs and the value of the solution or service that will be provided to their business.

Experiences/Education - Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any related field. A master’s degree or relevant certification would be considered an asset.

  • Minimum of 7+ years of experience in project management, with a focus on IT and software development projects.

  • Strong understanding of business and operational processes, with the ability to articulate these processes to others.

  • Excellent leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate, inspire, and direct team members.

  • Excellent communication and people skills, with the ability to interact effectively with all levels of the organization.

  • Strong critical thinking skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle stress and pressure in a fast-paced environment.

  • Demonstrated conflict resolution and negotiation skills, with a track record of resolving complex issues among team members, stakeholders, and vendors to ensure project continuity and success.

  • Ability to influence without authority

  • Self-directing and able to handle tasks ambiguous in nature

  • PMP Certified.

Skills & Certifications Desired

  • Knowledge of Product Service Delivery Model.

  • 10+ years of prior experience as a Program Manager with domain experience (ERP, SFDC, Supply Chain, Cyber Security, Manufacturing Engineering Systems, Data Integration, Infrastructure, etc.).

  • 5+ years of direct supervisory experience of virtual teams.

  • Experience using Agile Tools such as Kanban Boards, JIRA, Confluence, GitLab, or Planview.

  • Experience with Digital Transformation and automating manual project management processes.

  • Scrum Certified

  • Agile Certified

  • Domain Certifications in SAP, SFDC, Cyber Security, Manufacturing Engineering Systems, and Infrastructure.

The range for this position is $113,099.00 - $155,512.00 assuming full time status. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education. The benefits available for this position are dependent on hours worked and may include medical, dental, vision, 401(k) plan, pension plan, life insurance coverage, disability benefits, and PTO.
