Responsibilities You will serve as Supervisory Systems Accountant in the Force Accounting Division at Navy Special Warfare Command Headquarters. You will work independently, or as a leader, to review and analyze complex situations or conditions encompassing a wide spectrum of accounting documents, reports, policies, and procedures. You will serve as a subject matter expert in general fund accounting and financial reporting and maintain oversight and management of a variety of accounting and feeder systems to include CMET, DAR-Q, DCPS, DODAAC/UMS, G-invoicing, PIEE. You will coordinate with DFAS Rome on period close activities, JVs, trial balance reconciliation, and other activities. You will maintain oversight of NSWC timekeeping process for Headquarters and Echelon III activities. You will encounter unknown/undocumented situations related to NSW’s recent migration to DAI; you will be proactive, willing to understand, develop, and document resolutions for the organization. You will provide guidance to NSWC Echelon III activities on accounting system and feeder system, pay policies and procedures. You will supervise a team and assign work to subordinates, develop performance standards, evaluate employee performance, enhance employee development and training, and ensure training requirements are satisfied. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Experience utilizing DoD financial accounting systems (DAI or other ERP software), with the ability to apply theories, concepts, principles, and practices of accounting to identify and troubleshoot interface transactions from external feeder systems, a strong knowledge of USSGL, trial balance, and federal time and attendance policies. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Education Degree: accounting; or a degree in a related field such as business administration, finance, or public administration that included or was supplemented by 24 semester hours in accounting. The 24 hours may include up to 6 hours of credit in business law. (The term "accounting" means "accounting and/or auditing" in this standard. Similarly, "accountant" should be interpreted, generally, as "accountant and/or auditor.") OR Combination of education and experience: at least 4 years of experience in accounting, or an equivalent combination of accounting experience, college-level education, and training that provided professional accounting knowledge. The applicant's background must also include one of the following: Twenty-four semester hours in accounting or auditing courses of appropriate type and quality. This can include up to 6 hours of business law; A certificate as Certified Public Accountant or a Certified Internal Auditor, obtained through written examination; or Completion of the requirements for a degree that included substantial course work in accounting or auditing, e.g., 15 semester hours, but that does not fully satisfy the 24-semester-hour requirement of paragraph A, provided that (a) the applicant has successfully worked at the full-performance level in accounting, auditing, or a related field, e.g., valuation engineering or financial institution examining; (b) a panel of at least two higher level professional accountants or auditors has determined that the applicant has demonstrated a good knowledge of accounting and of related and underlying fields that equals in breadth, depth, currency, and level of advancement that which is normally associated with successful completion of the 4-year course of study described in paragraph A; and (c) except for literal nonconformance to the requirement of 24 semester hours in accounting, the applicant's education, training, and experience fully meet the specified requirements. Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. This position is eligible for ad-hoc telework at the discretion of management. This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required. Certain incentives (such as Recruitment, Relocation or Student Loan Repayment) may be authorized to eligible selectees. A relocation incentive is generally a single payment intended to offset some of the relocation costs experienced by the selectee. A relocation incentive may be authorized. Several vacancies may be filled.
